Deal Link:
Expiry:
December 23, 2019
Retailer:
Public Mobile
Effective immediately until December 23th at 11:59PM ET, we are offering your second month free when you activate on a $25/mo plan or higher online OR in-store! This will be applied as an account credit and the offer is available to new customers only.

How to Get this Offer:
Activate in-store OR visit activate.publicmobile.ca to activate at home on a $25/mo or higher plan by December 16, 2019 11:59PM ET
Eligible customers will be provided the account credit within 6 business days.
The credit value that you will receive will be equal to the price of the rate plan on which you activated your SIM card. This credit will cover the rate plan cost only. It will not cover additional costs such as Add-Ons.
Eligible customers will be credited the 30-day rate plan amount within 6 business days. These credits will count towards your next plan renewal.
You will not need to top-up your account at your first renewal date, unless you purchase Add-Ons, change or future-date your plan to a more expensive plan during the first 30 days. Note that, if you have registered for AutoPay, you will continue to receive your $2 AutoPay reward every 30 days. All Reward rules, which can be found at publicmobile.ca/rewardrules, apply.
This offer is stackable with other in-market promotions

Public Mobile is competing with the Bay for most sales. It would be nice if these were not flash sales but month long. Sometimes people need to think about things before taking action. Maybe this is a strategy to trigger some FOMO buying.

And the $20 credit for the referrer is also still going. The new account will get another $10 credit when they use someone else's referral code.

For those wondering, you are allowed to sign up for the $40 plan, get the $40 2nd month credit and immediately change your plan to the $15 plan before the start of the 2nd month.

A more long-term deal would be nice. This weekend sales might make peoppe waif until there is a sale, usually on thr weekends, but then at other times, there could be few signups.

yeah and now it is also coming down to the end of the More the Merrier give away so not sure if there will be anymore promos before that ends. So good time to activate and claim the free 1GB (one time) data add-on and 400 minutes of international calling (limited to 18 countries)

Haha same with Staples. We must buy something when there is a $25 off coupon floating around.

To sum up this deal
- Free second month credit $25
- Referral credit $10
- Enable autopay $2
- Find a WM will give you a free SIM with activation $10
- Free bonus 1GB data add-on (Get this until Dec 25)
- Free 400 international minutes add-on (Get this until Dec 25)

If you do not need the $25 plan, you can schedule plan change to the $15 plan, on your first renewal date, after receiving the 1 month plan credit.
Correct me if I am wrong, the promo details does not say anything about claw back of the 1 month credit.

Pro tip:

Get a AB number during activation to pay less tax. Port you number to PM after activation. You will be paying your province sale tax after porting your phone number to PM.

If you don't need the $40 plan, why use real money to generate account funds. You could get the same outcome with s top up. As the the $20 referral deal, it's doesn't benefit the new account, so all it does is give incentive to existing customers to shill the product.

I have read your post 3 times and I cannot figure out what you are trying to say.

But it is not the same outcome.

Buy $40 and downgrade to $15
Charges for 2 months - $40 + $15 = $55
Credits for 2 months - $40 (promo) + $4 autopay + $10 referral = $54
Net cost $1

Buy $15 plan from start
Charges for 2 months - $30
Credits for 2 months = $4 autopay + $10 referral = $14
Net Cost = $16

So there is a benefit to getting the promo and then downgrading. IF the $15 plan was eligible for the promo, then there would be no benefit.
