PM does not have a call center. Supports are provided by PM Community Forum. Moderator wait time is 2 - 3 days. Therefore, you may be out of phone service 2 days or more. With this in mind, if you are running a business or your job depending on a working phone. PM is not for you. Do your research. Ask questions before activation. Don't complain after activation because of the 2 - 3 days wait for the moderator support.

BTW, PM is prepaid service provider. There is no refund of unused days if you change your mind 1 day after activation. Prepaid plan does not work like a postpaid plan which has 2 weeks to cancel and owe provider nothing..

Not bad for those looking to get the $50 plan. Effectively this is a $60 discount. Would be really hot if it was permanent or the $10 discount was applicable to more plans.

And you can be without service if their billing system hiccups!

Imagine how popular this would be if they allowed it on the $25 plan. I think that we both know a way to turn this into a $70 discount. ;)

Yes. I have 2 accounts for 11 months and I have not had any service interruption. Knock on wood. It is not a surprise to me if I have service interruption as I know what I was getting into when I signed up my PM plans last year.

Do your research.

Public mobile is part of the Telus, so it does have good coverage across Canada with Telus/Bell towers. No surprise charges or overages. Once you run out of data, it just stops working. 3G data is LTE throttled, so good latency and will work for most general uses of data. Able to reduce bills with autopay sign up ($2 per month credit), friend referrals ($1 per friend/month credit), loyalty credits ($1 per month for each year with PM - max 5 years), etc.

As stated above, biggest disadvantage is the customer service model. No immediate response to potential issues. Only roaming to USA, nowhere international. International long distance calling to 18 countries. PM is low cost, no frills, DIY type of company.

One can get this promo for $38 8.5GB data for 6 months and switch to a lower price plan. After having 6 months with 8.5GB data, it is hard to go back to $38 5GB plan. It will test people's will power to switch from 8.5GB to the $25 1GB plan.
