Public Mobile New Plans

So I was accidentally able to see the new plans. IDK what happened. I should have screen it but I thought it was up so I didn't. So this is what they're doing form what I saw and remember:

You can customize you plans. If you pick 2 you get -$5. If you pick 3 you get -$15. If you pick data, text and voice that's 3.

$10 Base Rate

Province Wide is $20

Canada Wide Talk is $25

Text is $10

Data is $10 for 200MB (Addon not part of the plan deal), $20 for 1GB and $50 for 4GB.

So Canada Wide, Text and 1GB Data is $45. The 4GB was $75. Again, this is what I saw but I can't prove it because I didn't screen cap it. IDK if someone else got through by mistake as well. If you did let me know. It also said it was 4G LTE Data.

It's going to be official on 27th, that's what they are aiming for release.

So, how is this price list any different than the Telus or Koodo offerings?

Still good pricing, i wonder if it's on a 2 yr term or not.
You get $15 off. I must have remembered one of the prices wrong. I distinctly remember text, voice and data for $45.

Well Public isn't contract. IDK if they are going to change it, it seems unlikely.

Well, assuming your numbers are correct

Canada Wide Talk - $25
Text - $10
4GB Data - $40

= $75

But with $15 discount as well? That would make it a $60 4GB plan which would be amazing considering what's available now. But it also makes it hard to believe so I'll reserve judgement until it's official.

I just came up with $50.

My wife is on the old plan for $40 for Canada wide call/text and 1 gig data.

The numbers aren't adding up. IDK. But for sure the number it pumped out at the end was $45 for 1GB talk and text and $75 for 4GB Talk and Text with discount.

Yeah, no point in getting excited for the time being.

Although, $75 for a 4GB plan isn't too horrible. The same plan without a phone subsidy is about $95 at Bell, for instance.

All the old plans came with

Voicemail
Call Display
Call Waiting
Conference Calling

Don't think that changed.

 No cellphone provider requires a contract to give you service.

The plans are usually contract only. Pay as you go is usually different.

For plan Unlimited Canada Wide talk, unlimited text, and 1GB data

Old price = $40
New price = $10 base + $25 Canada Wide + $10 Unlimited text + $20 1GB data - $15 discount = $50

Basically they try to raise up $10 compare to the old plan.

With this $10 more, I don't think anyone in Quebec will subscribe to Public Mobile as we could get the same plan 1GB data cheaper ($50 - 10% off Bring Your Own Phone) from Koodo, Fido, Virgin Mobile and get a real support.
