Public mobile - 12GB for CAD 60 + 500 MB with autopay - YMMV

Price:
60
Expiry:
October 28, 2019
Retailer:
Public Mobile
Currently on $50 - 8 gb + 500 MB with autopay. Got a text and was offered 12 GB for $60 + 500 MB and $2 discount with autopay. US calling will be un-affected. I haven’t decided to move yet. Offer expiring on Oct 28th. Looks like a decent deal to me.

3g speeds though. I couldn't listen to a 2 hour podcast on a 3 hour drive because it buffered so much.

Yeah, the only streaming service that works on 3MBPS is YouTube. Other streaming services buffered a little. Heck, even YouTube buffered when I fast forward a bit.

What carrier were you connected to ?

I listen to online radio, SiriusXM, watch Netflix and Amazon Prime on the GO Train quite often on PM 3G service, never an issue.

That's false. The 3Mbps speed works more than fine for Youtube, Netflix, Prime Video, CTV, Global, and Citytv. You're looking at maybe a 3 second delay before video starts, but once it does, it's fine. This is at 720p resolution 1080p would be pushing it but would just me a couple more seconds to before the video start playing.

Either way, only connections to the LTE network are throttled. Connections to the HSPA+ network are full speed, and i routinely get anywhere between 15 and 35Mpbs.

This plan/promotion is already being discussed in another previous message thread.

Never have I had streaming issues with PM. Must’ve been the area you were in, which would have affected Telus in general (not just PM).

I streamed 720p nba playoffs with no lag and baseball in the summer using the sportsnet app.

was able to stream 360p YouTube video with no lag
didn't test 720p because of limited amount of my data

Not a deal, many people on here are on Koodo 12gb/$60 plan with 4G LTE speeds.
