Purolator Shipping Support Thread

I'd like to share my experience with Purolator. Hopefully if you run a business, you will stay away from this company unless you really want to piss off your customers.

I am a frequent online shopper. I have had may packages delivered to my home by various delivery services. So far I found the worst being Purolator. Companies that use Purolator include Toysrus, Sportchek and sometimes Amazon. Companies will always place the blame on the shipping companies but it is their fault to make such an unwise choice to use these delivery services. Amazon will at least give me a few bucks to compensate for having the product delivered late. Other companies will just apologize and pretty much imply in a courteous way that this is the way it is, suck it up. I don't blame the CS reps as they are good employees hired by bad companies to do exactly that.

I live in an area with frequent heavy traffic. 80% of the packages arrive late. (Though I have no problems with other delivery services). Purolator delivery person will use any excuse to have the package delivered by somebody else. One person said they cannot find my address. I live on the main road in my neighbourhood. There is no way that they cannot find it. a few times they claimed that they don't understand my address. I called customer service, they just verified my address and said they don't understand why the address is incorrect and have the package delivered the next day or two. I never get a notification when there is something wrong . I have to track the package using their website to find out.

Toysrus will not even give me an estimate delivery date, (just the tracking number), probably because they know how unreliable Purolator is. (Toysrus Canada survived bankruptcy, maybe it isn't such a good idea to irritate their customer that way especially when Amazon offers very competitive price for the same products and the packages are delivered mostly on time). Canada Post never delivered my small packages from China on time. At least I know that they were cracking down on fentanyl that they have to hold packages for inspection. Inefficient? Perhaps. At least I know that the reason behind packages not arriving on time.

Strange - all my four Sportchek packages came via Canada Post.

But I had a large flat screen TV delivered by Purolator.
Not only did it show up on time, Purolator called me ahead of time to let me know it was coming that day.

I bought a ton of items on line for Christmas and everything arrived on the scheduled date or earlier.
No problems with any of the courier services.

It's probably depends on the location. Your home might be easier to get to and with less traffic than my home. How unreliable is a shipping company that make deliveries selectively

Purolator is very reliable and predictable by my house. They arrive around 1pm daily. This was somewhat annoying when I had to walk my kids back to school after lunch, because I'd always get home to a missed delivery notice, but now they're older and it's perfect. I suspect your location or local drivers are the problem.

Nah, it's the driver that makes all the difference.

I live on Queensborough. It is in the middle of metro Vancouver. Traffic is constantly bad but drivers still have to deliver packages on time instead of making up lsme excuses to not hsving to deliver the package

Another Purolator sucks story.
First, I avoid buying from store that use Purolator for 2-3 years now.
This week, I place order with Dyson. Not knowing they use Purolator, I got a tracking number and it said PUROLATOR. I was like: Oh crap. Let see what happen.

First I work from home, so I am home EVERYDAY!!
Today at 2:15pm, I got a pre-recording call, tell me there is package for me to pick up, at location that is like 40mins drive from my home.
I go online check the tracking. it said Attempt delivery April 4, and 5, no one home.
As always, no note on my door. All I got is a phone call.

I call them, waited for 20min before I can talk to someone, they told me they try 2 times no one home.
I now request them to delivery again on Monday. I am not driving 40min one way to pick up the package when it should be ship to my door step.

Bright side of RFD: 4 X Koodo $40/8GB plan
Dark side of RFD: Tons of stuff that I don't need but still got them because of RFD

Exact same experience. I almost want to give dyson's ebay store a negative rating just for using purolator. Went through so much trouble to get the fking vacuum.
Purolator's delivery men are a joke. What's worse is that they don't have convenient pickup locations like very other shipping company. Purolator is the Worst!!!!

Amazon is the best in canada, point blank. Bigly sad for the others. *welp*

Altho fedex is improving since they've introduced store drop off's. Where packages can be redirected to the nearest fedex store. That way you'll be sure to get the package and not have some lackey misplace it trying to find ur address and shit. In fact you can state it as an option that if they if cant deliver to your home (or no one is home) they automatically deliver to fedex store at end of delivery day. My fedex store is only 5 min away and closes at 7pm. So if I call before closing they will verify my package is there for pick up. No need for re-delivery next business day.

I have some weird experiences with delivery of Purolaror several times.
I am getting package delivered from Amazon/Canada Post/DHL/Fedex regularly in Toronto High Park area but all the time Purolaror can’t find the same address.

They are not able to find my apartment on this earth. I started to cancel my online orders from Best Buy when I am seeing Purolaror as shipper. Any one having similar experience please share it and if any idea to tackle with them are most welcomed.

Thanks
