Putting drywall back up in the kitchen after removing backsplash

As the title says, I need to fill these holes with new drywall because when i was removing the backsplash tiles it was ripping chunks of the original drywall out.

The long strip against the concrete wall, the drywall is just glued on to the concrete. What glue would you guys recommend I apply to put up the new drywall?

Any other suggestions will also be appreciated, thanks!

PL Premium for the win!

You don't have to fully tape and finish that if planning a new backsplash. Best of luck on your renovation.

Whatever you chose, there's no need to go ape shit with the adhesive. A loonie sized dab top and bottom every foot will be more than sufficient to hold it up. The next guy who wants to change the tile will appreciate it.

Sincerely,
