Quiznos Subs : Smaller?

Well, i have this beef (no pun intended) on my mind for a long time now. I love Quiznos subs but i find them to be expensive for what you pay. I remember when quiznos first openned the sandwhich was bigger, and the meals were more fulfilling. Buying an 8 inch regular sub would fill me up, but nowadays a regular 8 inch sub would leave me wanting more food. I dont' think my appetite has grown that big over the last year or so. So what i am asking is, is it just me or has quiznos downgrade their sandwich so that we have to buy the Large at an unreasonable price, cut off for a sandwhich should be $8 i say, anything more is just unreasonable.

I agree.

The first time I had Quiznos was in Waterloo. I could barely finish it.

However the past few times I've had it in Mississauga, I get hungry shortly after.

I do prefer Quiznos' subs more than Subway or Mr. Sub but if I'm going to be left hungry, I think I'd rather just pay less.

Yes, the subs have become smaller. I work at a quiznos, and at the time of the recent price reduction, portions were reduced as well. Not only did the way the subs were measured change, but the wieght of meat and cheese did as well. Now the bread is measured diagonally instead of tip to tip, and the meat has decreased from 6.5 oz on a large to 5.0 oz, 4.0 to 3.5 on a medium, and 2.5 to 2.0 oz on a small. However, some of us...accidently..... put on the old portions for friendly people.

... I've always found Quizno's subs to be much smaller and pricier. I never get full unless I choose a "deal" of some sort that comes with junk food like a bag of chips thrown in.

So in the past 6 years, on a rare occassion I want to get a sandwich I

- set the oven to 400F.
- head to SUBWAY
- take out a sub of my choice
- bring it home
- stick it in the oven for 6-7 mins.
- Voila!

Quizno's taste, Subway size... ends up costing me less, I don't have to stuff myself with junk food, and most importantly, I'm not hungry 25 mins. later. :D

Im glad you confirmed this for me. I thought the sub seemed smaller after the last price decrease, but I wasnt sure if it was my imagination.

Now there is too much bread for the amount of meat. Too bad. I prefer Quiznos but Subway is a better value.

Personally, I don't like Quizino's since the people who make them are so mean and they won't add any other toppings on the sub and there like "nonono we have to follow the recipe" I had several people complain about that and now I go to subway whenever I can.

I agree with most of the comments here. Found quiznos subs to have more bread than meat when I eat there. Gone down big time. May have something to do with the expensive franchise fee's these guys charge there franchisee's. Subway is going the same route, except there subs are GARBAGE and getting just as expensive as quizno's

I'll stick to Mr. Subs. They have been pretty consistent.

You know you can get Subway to toast your subs right? :) I used to prefer Quizno's subs, but the price difference between Subway and Quiznos isn't justified. Especially with new deals from Subway like the 3 6" subs for $9.99 after 3 pm, which is great if you go with a friend or two.

I've never been a fan of subways. I hate it when they microwave the meat and put it on the bread.

I've always been a fan of quizno's. I think the "eat fresh" slogan should be applied to Quizno's and not Subway.

Yeah, the last time I ordered Quizno's, the subs were smaller than I remembered. Really holding back on the meat. Recently, I saw a Quizno's commercial where they had a close-up of one of their sandwiches and it was positively overstuffed with toppings until it was just bursting. There was more meat in that one sandwich than in the 2 sandwiches I ordered last time I went.
