Hopefully we will see $50 for 16gb again! I will buy more RAM if it gets significantly cheaper even though I already have 16gb.

With our exchange rate? $50 for 16GB would mean $38 USD. Right now a pack of 16GB is about $80.

Doesn't seem realistic to me.

Fine, so maybe $50 if you want to take the exchange rate into account.

Today's prices are good, but it looks like RAM is going to get considerably cheaper. I'm just biding my time and I will drop in another 16gb into my rig when the time is right.

So you bought 16GB of ram, but wish for more?

You'll be surprised, it's really hard to use 16GB of ram on a desktop computer, you really need to run a lot of garbage.

Time to install uBlock. I find that sites that are ad-heavy usually take up ridiculous amounts of RAM.

Just added another 8gb today because I was hitting the max when making and editing panoramas in Photoshop. Sweet deal too. Picked up 8gb for $52.12 all in on Prime day.

If prices drop to ~50$ for 8gb I'll add another 16gb and make this a monster.

well they will for sure, seeing as anything brand new will be ridiculously overpriced just for the sake of it being possible to gauge tech nerds.

DDR4 was very expensive towards christmas times.

but as ddr4 drops ddr3 should even further for a couple years until stock supply switches up

Really want to build an X99 just waiting on memory prices to drop down as its expensive right now. If this report is true, me holding off has been the right choice.

It's true, I waited for it to drop too and it has finally dropped to reasonable levels. I just completed a X99 build for $871 excluding tax and shipping. Pretty satisfy.

How many parts from a previous build did you carry over? Board alone I haven't seen lower than $250 and a 5820k is like $400 (unless you got retail edge thats a different story).
