What exactly is an Amazon Prime gift card?
How is it different from Amazon gift cards?

Thanks for the heads up OP.

Grabbed a few. $100 for 9,800 points. I wonder if those with RBC Rewards cards still get them for slightly cheaper after this rebrand to Avion Rewards

Thanks for the heads up. And, to clarify for others, this seems to be for the Visa Avion cardholders. I didn't have this deal on my regular Rewards+

Is this a better value as compared to Travel?

Avion rewards is a tier-based system.

You’ll need the full feature (I.e. not the no fee cards) to access the 30% off. I have the Avion infinite and it appears 30% for me.

Not if you need or could benefit from travel. I’m stacked on travel rewards elsewhere so the Amazon gift cards work for me.

Travel will get you up to 2c per point in value. This deal is approximately 1c per point. Consider though that you will not likely maximize the travel redemption - in most cases you’ll be somewhere around a 1.2-1.5c per point and this deal might make more sense.

How can I maximize the travel value. I have 75k points and when i compare flights on google flights with Avion one, it’s damn high! Am i doin something wrong here?

The BTS deal was the best rate.. especially for rewards+ .

This one with 30% off for avioners it's like 24,500 pts for a $250 amazon for avion tier

Image
The back to school promo for rewards+ was 18,000 pts for $250 amazon ( $1:72 points)

Rewards + still drops to $100 for 1000 points at final stage of checkout. Even though it’s advertised as $100 for 1400 points

I don’t see that. It still shows 20% off only. Time to get the avion card.
