Exchange network will not be supported in Sept. Only Scotiabank machines.

edit: it is supported, but it will no longer be free

Maybe I exaggerated a little... I'm considering opening an account for the free $150. I just don't like how they're dropping abms. It narrows the available machines very significantly.

That minimum balance could be saved earning interest though...

At max 1.8%? $1500 x 1.8% = $27 / 12 = $2.25 per month. Plans cost at least $4 among the big banks, and they also don't pay 1.8% - credit unions do, though. Keeping a minimum balance is a no brainer.

I'm going to wait and see how this turns out.

What I'd really would like to see is the official terms and policies on this promotion.

if you think about, it, this is a great deal, sign up right before the promo is over, do one deposit from work and the ipad is yours for ~131.40 if you get the account with a basic free credit card :)

I already have 2 credit cards with them, I wont need a 3rd one. And being required to have the acct until Aug 2015 to me is just too long, without even being able to downgrade as a side option. I'll be passing on this offer.

Promo offer while supplies last. They won't have infinity units and if u sigh up right before the promo ends, you might end up w nothing if they run out of units.

True. You go to branch and that way, if they try to pull a fast one, you have a rep to blame and have this escalated further for a credit of a new iPad mini with Retina display. If the promo is there that means they have the iPads, otherwise they can keep it running forever and say while supplies last

So it's one OR the other - either 2 pre authorized payments OR a payroll setup.

That's good news.

What kind of things do you people pre authorize... I don't think I have anything?

They ran out of Asus eee netbooks and subbed in nicer ones near the end of the promo. I'm signing up tomorrow and ditching my TD unlimited account. 5000$ sitting in that account all year with zero interest is not ideal.
