I was on the site yesterday to check if I could just buy it since it was for a friend and didn't want to use the points. Min is 11k RBC points that you need to use.

But I transfered some points out from one card to another and now have a zero balance on one card, I will try to see if I can order it and just pay.

You can always test it out on the site

Thanks for the deal OP. Had an extensive chat with my SO on whether we should get one of these or wait for next month's refresh (or maybe even wait for a Pro).

For myself, will get this one. For my SO, will either wait for next month's refresh or eventually get a Pro.

I myself only use iPad for media consumption (Netflix, Plex), magazine reading, and mindless social media flicking --> 2018 ipad is more than enough.
The SO actually takes hers to conferences and takes notes, etc. --> PRO could be useful.

A potential downside with the 2019 ipad could be losing the headphone jack!

Its true, why would this be allowed. Two different companies. It's like you going to another same car owner and asking to take his car.

Seriously. Why cant you comprehend that their two different companies and competitors? Why would it work?

Would you expect Starbucks to accept Best Buy gift cards?

No not directly...but using BestBuy gift card we can buy a normal prepaid Visa card and then use it in Starbucks...so I was looking for various options to play around and see which is a better way to purchase

If you have an avion card, aren't the points worth 1pt to 1c, (100pts = $1)? So if you plan on using points for travel at all, then this is probably not that hot... correct me if I'm wrong.

If you're not using them for travel, then it's probably worth, since the point value falls off quite a bit compared to travel.

You're required to use 14k minimum points for the 128GB WIFI version, which is treated as $80.
IMO not that great of a deal, since 100 points = $1 (Annual 30% off gift card sales you can get a $100 Amazon card for 9800 points)

They trick you into undervaluing your points with this deal
Bezos' Banana Boy. A banana a day, keeps me from throwing my laptop away.
Corporate Food Vulture, if you know, you know.

Public Mobile 4GB/$40 -> Koodo (6GB+2GB)/$40 -> Telus 30GB/$35 -> Rogers 75GB US/CAN/$40 -> Rogers 130GB US/CAN $28.66

Now 3 generations of pro. The new ones are the 11 and 12.9 inch. 10.5 was second generation.

echo this.
this deal is
49500 points = $322 means Ratio of 0.0065 / 153.73 a good ratio I consider is:
10,000 points =$100 means Ratio of 0.0100 / 100.00 (this is for example RBC rewards on sale)
well if you consider this iPad is normally $429 bit better but still not great.
