Reminder that RBC Rewards points can convert to WestJet Dollars at 100 to 1 any time.

The 29,575 OP spent on a $275 Walmart card could have net them $295 WSD (WestJet dollars) which then have great value redeemed toward planned travel - I've included the chart below. I've flown from Vancouver to Toronto and back for $250 WSD (25,000 RBC Reward Points) twice in the last two years. That flight redemption has much better value to me than any gift card promo.

About $70 in taxes/fees, in addition to the 250 WSD - this is each direction and shows short term availability (next month):

You can stretch the 250 WSD pretty far though - here's an example from Vancouver to Halifax round trip for 250 WSD + $90 in taxes:

Availability is also very generous - example 1, example 2.

I guess this an alternative route to flight domestic instead of using Aeroplan points. Time to convert RBC points and collect WSD now.....

Is there a preferred WJ card to get? I've been considering dumping my RBC Rewards+ card in favor of something that will yield better rewards.

Can you convert RBC Rewards to any WSD account? I'd pay $250 for 25000. :)

I have considered this option, but I like to keep flight options open just in case I want to fly swoop, flair or AC.

Am I crazy here?

Can you not combine RBC reward points for different accounts? I have to redeem the ones from my chequing account separately from the credit card ones?
