RC Car for 8 Year Old

Anyone have experience with the RC Pro Shredder?
Thinking of purchasing this over the Arma rc monster truck for a 7 year old just starting out.
https://www.rcpro.ca/collections/shredder

I tried big box store ones but they don't last and he wasn't really rough with them.

What's the price ?

For 250 I got the Redcat Everest Gen7 wich it's great for beginer.

The RC you mentionned is in the 1/12 scale, I would stick to 1/10 or 1/18 since they are more popular and have more parts available.

The price is $179 but only has a 7.4V 1500mah Li-ion Battery which may only hold a brief charge.

I didn't go with Redcat because was concerned about reliability and was originally looking at the Arma Granite.

Do you want him to go fast ? I prefer crawler to start, they are very solid and fun to drive.

my boys never really got into RC as much as I hoped. We had a little fun with some drones but that only lasted a couple of days. Probably because of video games. RC cars are so limited compared to what they can do in video games.
