Ready to Drink Cold Brew/Iced Coffee Options.

Due to the heat, I've been enjoying cold brew instead of hot coffee. I have tried a few different ready to drink brands:

1) Starbucks Unsweetened Iced Coffee - https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/starbucks- ... 0201072080
Image

2) PC Cold Brew - https://www.presidentschoice.ca/product ... 1022542_EA

3) STOK Cold Brew - https://stokbrew.ca/en/homepage/?gclid= ... gcQAvD_BwE

My favourite by far is the STOK brand - both lightly sweetened and black.

Looks like Starbucks in the US has a cold brew option as well - have yet to see it here.

Anyone have other recommendations?

My vote is for Stok. I found that choice to be the best. Sweet-ish was the last one I tried. (exact same as bottle in OP's pic)
It seemed to have the best flavour & taste.
PC tasted to me like I may as well buy regular PC coffee, make it up at night, put it in the fridge...and there it is! Instant iced coffee in the morning. lol

Starbucks was okay, but I'm left with the feeling that I should try some others out there first before buying it again. (if I do...)
I only bought it because I had a coupon for $2 off. It's not worth regular retail. I will never pay full price for it.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Great thread for on the go, thanks OP!

This isn't the same as ready made but at home I do variations of cold brew, ice coffee etc. A self recipe is a double shot of espresso using Lavazza Crema E Aroma beans (chocolate tones), add a small scoop of Haagen-Dazs or whatever I have on hand, 1 tbsp of Torani French Vanilla syrup and I run it through the Margaritaville to blend in crushed ice. It's a fave whenever people are over.

I actually don't mind Kicking Horse cold brew, although it is insanely priced for the quantity you get (is that why it ranks so low on your list?)

At home, I just use my French Press and some regular ol' beans for cold brew. Super easy and cheap (as long as you're patient). And while I rarely buy "outside" coffee anymore, I make an annual summer-time exception for Starbuck's Nitro Cold Brew, which is one of the few winners they have on their menu, IMHO.

Yea, the value for me is why it ranks low. Ultimately, it is just much easier and cheaper to brew from home. I can use whatever beans and one batch yields lasts me 2-3 days which is true for hot coffee I guess too

do you add sugar and cream to your homemade iced coffee?

Just a note for those who say Starbucks. Loblaws has a sale on right now. 2 for $14 or $7.99 each.

Did your machine break down? I highly recommend investing in a Keurig with an "iced" button.

Regular price at costco is cheaper, and it goes on sale 9.99 for the 2pack.
That's my 2cents worth

It’s already sweetened. I never tried it as prescribed but more for ice cream dressing. And coffee milk. It was pretty good but had an artificial taste to it unlike actual coffee.

$4 price was right. I suspect it’s very little actually coffee and a lot more coffee flavour and sugar. Lots and lots of sugar. Non bueno.

We also have Starbucks cold brew up here, it shows up as cold brew concentrate, i’ve seen it at superstore in other Loblaw‘s related grocery stores and occasional at save on.
I like it better than the Starbucks iced coffee you listed in your picture but I don’t know if it’s my favorite.

Both of those taste different than actually getting a cold brew from a Starbucks, which sometimes I do, I just ask for no ice or water so it ends up being A concentrate which I then take home and adjust to my liking, at five dollars for a Trenta but considering it’s concentrate and you can get 4 or so Trenta’s is worth of iced coffee out of it.
The only downside is it’s more inconvenient because it’s in this temporary cup, so I end up funneling The leftovers into a empty bottle so I can store it but I suppose I could store it in its original cup it just feels like I should keep it better than that.

This stuff I like for completely other reasons,
I’ve moved to iced coffee is because I’ve been doing keto and this has way too much sugar.

But prior to dieting I use this stuff a lot and it’s the closest I can get to making a ice cap at home.
It’s the least coffee-y type of cold brew/frappe sauce I’ve found.
(I mean that in the same way an ice cap isn’t exactly like an iced coffee, or a coffee crisp chocolate bar doesn’t quite taste like coffee)

In my opinion it hits that coffee flavor without coffee itch that you can sometimes get, I would go ape shit if they made a sugar-free/like Stevia variant.

I've seen it as low as 2 for $11.99 I think in the GTA. Wish STOK was sold at Costco...
