Jan 13th, 2022 this product was $12.65 at Walmart and RCSS.

That's 57% annualized inflation.

Not bad. Most groceries went up like 300%. Look at eggs.
Underpriced. Buy buy buy!

OK. I was wondering about the price. I think it was at like $11.88 before for Chinese new year or something. Now its $19.88. That inflation is killer. The worse part is, prices most likely won't ever come back down.

Invasion, inflation, supply chain…. So many “valid” reasons in front of them to jack up the price to make up the loss they had during Covid. Why not?

Why is this so much more expensive in BC?

The flyer doesn’t even have the item, instead we get Kokuho Calrose rice 10 kg for $34.88.

Walmart in BC has the Botan for $27.97.

I know a lot of groceries are priced higher here, but not usually by that much??

It's $29.99 at the Superstore near me, no mention of a sale. Would be a decent price otherwise.

We ran out last week and I bought a 40lb bag of Heiwa for $58 (!) and hated myself. Last year they were maybe $45 at the wholesale club.

T&t brand calrose goes on sale semi regularly and it's comparable, probably not quite as good
Last time I got a 40 lb bag for around $38 or so
