[Real Canadian Superstore] Chivas Regal 12 y/o 1.75L $66.98 (AB only)

Saw Chivas marked down to 66.98 for PC Optimum members (69.98 for non members) at Real Canadian Liquor Store. Apologies if this is a repost.

Chivas is a decent blend (not as popular as JW) and usually sells for the regular $50-$55/750 ml so think this is a great deal. AB only. For further reference...LCBO has this for $109.95 (https://www.lcbo.com/webapp/wcs/stores/ ... CYKesDEglQ).

need to try Chivas again... haven't had it since teenage years when my friends hated it and instead preferred JW but I couldn't really tell the difference at the time

Okay. Where?
The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten....

Yeah they’re meant to be similar tasting as they’re designed for mass appeal. I prefer JW too but honestly I find Chivas nearly as good.

Personal preference. And currently, no.

JW Black goes on sale sometimes a year too so load up when you see it (or go to Costco).

You can get a ton of more interesting scotches in this price range. Chivas is so boring.

Edit: nvm I didn't see this was 1.75L. I'd say this one is for for mixing, even though it's "12 y/o" it's not one I would drink neat.

it’s a solid whiskey for the price. quit acting like you know scotch and what’s good. it’s all preference. some like peat. smoke. sweeter. leathery. you name it. drink what you want. that’s the beauty of being an adult.

JW Black is horrible to my taste, almost can't stomach it. Chivas isn't bad, baseline scotch IMO

Strongly agree. Good for mixing or with lots of ice. Wouldn’t do that with a good single malt, but perfect for Chivas.

Fore sure. I personally enjoy Ballentine's as my "regular" and it's the king of Blended Scott IMO.

have you tried Ballentine's 17? It's pretty nice. Jim Murray even gave it scotch of the year once, but he's an old drunk, i think this year it's Crown Royal or something, lol.
