How do these smell? Do they smell like regular bar soap?

Yeah they’re pretty strongly fragranced but not necessarily in a bad way. I don’t mind ivory...

Best soap for the bathtub because it floats :)

I actually found Ivory to have no smell. That is the reason I buy it. It's pretty tame when it comes to soap. No heavy films or fragrances.

Since switching from using bar soap to liquid body wash I could swear the bathroom is a lot easier to clean, less grime to scrape off. Not sure if I'm just imagining that though.

Does that mean it's full of air bubbles, so you get less soap?

I use and like this soap. I used to pay $2 at Food Basics. Now on sale $3. Great buy at $2.

Fragrance is mild. Men will like this soap I believe.

What I do. I always have a spare bar left out unwrapped to let it dry out a bit. Lasts longer..less waste.

I did see some mould on a bar once. ??

Thanks OP. Perfect for keeping the kids busy: soap carving, ivory soap in the microwave, density experiments... Hours of good clean fun!

Oddly enough, I had noticed this as well. Even more oddly, on the most recent SYSK podcast, they talk about soap and how it works. The reason why body wash doesn't leave the ring around the tub is that it is technically a detergent, not soap.

To be considered soap the product has to go through a process called Saponification - the mixing of fats, oils and Lye.

Body Wash or any other 'detergent' is derived from petroleum sources.

Ivory huh, the name used to sound soothing but now it's just wrong.

Thanks - I grew up with this stuff.

It was the only thing we were allowed to take to camp, to wash in the lake with. 99% biodegradable & floats - so no diving to the bottom to fetch your soap.
