[Real Canadian Superstore] OAKVILLE, ON - FREE short dated milk on Flashfood app at Superstore Oakville

This milk is showing up at $.44 on the Flashfood app at superstore Oakville supposedly I read here somewhere in a different thread that anything that is below $.50 for a total purchase made through the Flashfood app will not actually get charged through to your card. Can anyone confirm if this is correct?

Don't buy. Close date milk usually already went bad. I bought once, never will do again.

I can't believe OP would post that.
This is ridiculous!
Selling milk dated March 15th on March 15th is not "short dated" it's selling garbage instead of throwing it away!
Are we going to start posting garbage in the Hot deals forum?

Regular milk has an average time span of 3 weeks before it's expired but it start to taste "less good" around 10 days to a week before expiry.

- Here you go Timmy: drink-up! Face With Tears Of Joy

I nominate for worst thread of the year.

First of all, the Flashfood app doesn’t sell anything past its best before date (milk has a best before date, not an expiry date FYI). Second of all, free is free. You never know who may be reading this thread and in desperate need of food/milk. Just because you won’t eat something on its last suggested best before date doesn’t mean others won’t. Maybe get off your high horse a bit eh?

it's not food, it's milk. That milk could get bad a day or two after being opened. You could get very sick drinking bad milk especially if you are vulnerable like the elderly or the very young. It's not like yogurt that will be good way past its time. You might think I'm on my high horse but I'll let you know that I buy yogurt when on special and I eat the last ones sometimes one month after its Best before date yet the taste is fine. Stop peddling garbage. If you need milk that bad, go to a food bank.

Thank Goodness it's sold out.

Reported expired. Just like the milk. :)

this is really a slippery slope though. ive seen milk thats curded up before its BB date, and ive drank milk that was past its BB date, so it can really vary. plus there are things that can be had years after its BB date and still cause no harm, it just might not be as beneficial.

you never know if theres a family of like 7 that could use some free milk, everybodys life is diff, their struggle is diff, some could be very desperate. as long as they have enough common sense to tell when milk has gone bad, i think theres nothing wrong with OP's post, he's not advocating people buying and drinking milk thats actually gone bad, this is one of those YMMV things, its free, doesnt hurt to give it a try, and if it hasnt gone bad, even if it goes bad tomorrow, maybe just that one glass today might be worth the hassle to some people out there.

You can take that milk and make yogurt

I dare you to make yogurt with expired milk since you have to leave it at around 110 degrees Fahrenheit for at least 6-8 hours where the nasty bacteria will grow in ideal conditions.

Then feed it to your baby.

The milk is not expired. It has a Best Before date.
