Was it maybe an out of date prescription? When I had my Costco exam done they had printed on the bottom that it was only good for one year even though they're supposed to be good for 2 years in Ontario...

Maybe they meant a contact lens fitting?

Nope, full exam. Again why I thought it was strange Slightly Smiling Face Figured spending $$$ on an exam I didn't need totally negated the savings.

I'll try again tho, if I get time this week!

Agreed, a 6-month old prescription should be perfectly valid. Sounds pretty scammy. If I had that experience it would sour me on that particular location.

Yes. But it may reduce the amt for this bonus point event. I.e. if the total price is $200 and you redeem $100 in points and only pay $100. They might only give you bonus points based on $100, not $200. You better ask.

I went today at the one near Dufferin and Steeles in Toronto and ordered contacts as a new customer. I didn’t need to show my prescription or get an exam done. I just brought in a pair of my existing lenses and they ordered them. They didn’t have them in stock, so will pick them up in a few days.

Just ordered contact lenses from the Superstore at Metrotown. Made two separate transactions and got 50,000 points for each transaction. Only showed the prescription on the contact lens I was using.

Why you had to make 2 transactions since it is 50k for every $100 spend?

One was for me and the other was for my wife. Just easier to separate it for insurance purchases.

I would guess not because they don’t usually have in store optometrist. They would probably refer you to an outside optometrist.
