I'd rather hook up a $400 PC to a $200 TV than to buy a $600 TV.

I've got one in my bedroom that's been going strong for about 5 years now, no complaints.

I'm a budget tv guy. I have a Haier 4k and a TCL 4k. I bought this exact tv on black Friday from Superstore as I figured it couldn't be that bad.

It's honestly terrible, like so bad. Blacks have a really strong red tint, there's light bands, the screen is splotchy at angles and it's super dim. I'd seriously pony up the extra 100 or so dollars and get a Haier or TCL , they're seriously so, so much better.

Just to be fair it could just be my unit, I didn't bother trying to return as I couldn't be bothered fighting with Superstore and I used points for it. Maybe other people have had better experiences. I'm sure it's fine for a kids room or something but I seriously refuse to use it.

And where are you getting a 50" TCL for 299?

There's really only 4 panel makers left in the world. Even entry level Samsung, Sony, LG use the same discounted panels as westinghouse, technicolor, rca use in their tv's. The only difference is the processors and boards each company makes in house that makes them better from each other or more reliable than each other.

Face With Tears Of Joy If you're in a huge rush for a cheap tv then just buy it, there's no need to be passive aggressive lol. I figured a first hand experience with the tv would be useful. Hope you feel better.

That bad? Damn man! I was actually going crazy for how awesome this seemed. But after going through the Green Simpsons on my 55" RCA, I don't think I can deal with that annoyance again.

Just picked one up earlier tonight. So there are now 4 left.

Went home and set it up. Quality is what you expect in a $200 tv Face With Tears Of Joy. I’m mainly using it for PowerPoint presentations/workout videos so it suits my needs. I definitely wouldn’t use it as my main TV, perfect for a guest room or something

It's basically the worst possible 4K TV you can buy. You would only buy it if you literally only care that it's a 50" TV for $200. That being said, it has it's place, perhaps as a game/cartoon TV for younger kids, a rental property, etc.

I have a 55” Westinghouse 4K model from a couple of years ago. I might be a bit more nit picky, but to me this doesn’t exactly qualify for the statement “for $200 you can’t go wrong”. I mean as a TV it shows video and plays audio, but it’s just so subpar. Very washed images, terrible downscaling, terrible viewing angles. I had to disconnect the TV’s smart apps from the wifi because for some reason everytime you launch YouTube it creates a new cast “instance” and it doesn’t remove it - when I’d hit cast I’d get a huge list of just “Westinghouse”. Sure this is may be a YouTube issue but it would help if the ecosystem was maintained, I can’t recall when the last software update for the TV was. Also the audio quality is straight garbage, I’ve gotten better audio from laptop speakers before.

On the other hand however, while it wouldn’t make it for me, if you’re literally looking for a big TV and don’t care/can’t notice a difference in picture/audio quality, then yeah $200 for this guy would make sense.
