These PC offers always take some figuring out. How does this one work? 40k points is $40, so how do you get up to $50 off?

They take another $10 off your purchase when you redeem 40,000pts. I guess they added 'up to' $50 just in case what you buy totals between $40-$49.99. Make sure your total is over $50 to maximize the offer.

So can I buy $40 worth of stuff, redeem those points and the "up to" gives me $40 off? And if I spend $50 and redeem, it'll give me 50 off? Definitely sounds hot

Nvm... I think poster above me clarified it

Maybe you have to buy $40 worth of kitchen stuff and $4 (total after taxes $50) of other stuff in order to get the $50 off, otherwise, if total is <$50, you'll get up to that amount.

Wouldn't you need to buy like $90 worth of groceries with $40 worth on kitchen prep stuff? You are already redeeming 40,000 PC points (to activate this offer) which will bring your bill down to $50. Then this $50 off would kick in after the fact

Not sure if I'm over complicating it but thats the way it looks to me. Kind of confusing though

I think just think of getting $50 on a 40k redemption. Basically like a bonus shoppers redemption.

It says in bold that is extra $10 in value. (Not extra $50 in value)

The 'up to' wording is confusing some people. If you buy a $60 toaster and redeem 40,000pts the balance owing will be $10 with this offer rather than $20 without it. I didn't include tax in the calculation.

4 hours later and there is still no clarity about this offer. LOL.

I do believe PC go out of their way to make these more complicated than they should be.

I also have that offer, but haven't figured out which kitchen prep and appliances worth to buy. Any suggestion?

The title 'Get $50 off' is very misleading and the wording in the details is bad. The most you can save with this deal is $10 not $50 so the title should read 'Get up to $10 off'. The details should read 'Redeem 40,000 pts or more on kitchen prep or appliances and get up to $10 off your purchase' My $40 worth of points and their $10 off is not saving me $50, it saves me $10. With their wording they might as well say 'redeem 40,000 pts , get $40 off' which of coarse saves you nothing. Also if you redeem more than 40,000 pts the title would be incorrect. If you redeem 70,000 pts according to them you get $80 off.

Redeeming optimum points is seldom ever as lucrative as the best earning offers. But at some point you have to redeem to realize the calculations that apply to the earning.

None of that to suggest this is that great of an offer. It's just meh.

I find that very few things at SDM are worth redeeming for. Except for gaming consoles, some other electronics that are hard to find at SDM and a few grocery items most of their items are overpriced. I don't remember seeing any kind of bonus redemption at RCSS before and I only remember Loblaws having one a few years ago. Hopefully they have more in the future. SDM is the only store that has regular bonus redemption events for PC optimum.

In my app it’s $25 off when redeeming 20,000 points.
The PC points program is way easier to figure out than the Triangle program, at least.
