Recessed LED lighting recommendations

I could not find a retrofit style plug in for my 3.5" can lights so I am just going to pull out the cans and enlarge the drywall to accomodate 4" or 6" LED recessed lights.

With SO many brands out there.....what do you do? Are you all sticking with what the big box stores sell? Or the ones from jenco or similar lighting stores? I keep getting ads for qplus! Amazon/Wayfair have a ton as well but I am not sure how much faith I have in those.

There are liteline and Etlin Daniels to name a few. Check out City Electric. Don’t go 6”, way too big.

I'm getting 4" slim downlights. Where can I buy the vapor barriers (to be installed in the attic) for the slim lights?

I have seen a few different 4" slim LED potlights used, purchased through amazon. They work great and even though they have different names on them, they are nearly identical to each other. I'm not sure how they compare against more expensive ones sold at other stores. With that being said, there aren't a whole lot to them, once you crack them open and take a look inside. Just make sure they are properly certified and approved for use.
