Recommend good store bought instant noodles?

Pretty sure these are extremely high in salt BUT tbh I’ve never had any but it’s been peaking my interest for awhile. There are so many on the market. Can someone recommend something to try? Nothing fishy though. Specifically looking for Asian store bought instant noodle packs. I actually have some indie noodles from Indonesia which I’ll try.

Any others ?

Oh lol that salty eh. I don’t have high expectations. Thus why I’m looking for the better reviewed noodles. :)

I used to live on this stuff as a kid, but these days my body has adapted to more healthy foods.

The only store-bought fried- instant noodles I've tried that I can keep down are Sapporo Ichiban.

There is a baked brand called Chef Wu that is surprisingly good and also lower in sodium. I like it.

It's Maggi Mee Curry noodles for us. We love it, it's a staple in our pantry. Add some bean sprouts, roast chicken, crack an egg into the soup. Yum! Or make it as dried wantan noodles with some soy sauce, sesame oil, pepper. If you add the whole pack of seasoning, it's salty but I've ate this since I was a kid.

In the past in Richmond, BC, one of the stores were selling Myojo spicy Char Mee. So good but no one is importing that now. I found a substitute from myKuali Mee Goreng pedas. Add a bit of sesame oil to it and woot! It's spicy.

Nongshim Black and Nissin soy flavour are good as well. My kids said the Nissin from Japan tastes better than the Nissin chinese made ones.

I notice that Mama brand noodles also have a cult following.
I was flying out of Bangkok earlier this year and the guy in front of me, in the security line, was toting this massive 40 pack of Mama Tom Yum instant noodles. I chatted with him about it and he claimed he reeeally likes the Tom Yum flavour! Face With Tears Of Joy

Firstly, no one says you have to put the entire package of seasoning in (put it in TO YOUR TASTE PREFERENCE), secondly, you don't have to drink all of the broth (broth is there to season the noodles and you can put some in a spoon too drink with the noodles or after each slurp).

There a lot of noodles that you won't find here or they will be in very limited availability.

There are different price points as well... Some you can get for under a dollar and some will go for two or more dollars. Varieties are almost endless.

I'd recommend brands Nong Shim, Nissin Sapporo Ichiban, Primataste. Try to buy non China made....Japan, USA, Korea, Singapore.
$1 saved is like $2 earned...remember that!

Nong Shim Black is my favourite, and Nong Shim Veggie Soon & Kimchi flavours are also quite nice.

If you can handle spice, try the Samyang hot chicken.

And for something reminiscent of spicy rice cakes, I really like Paldo's rabokki.

Everyone raves about the Prima Taste varieties, but I wasn't that impressed (good, but not the best).

Hi,

I think the noodles that have a packet of dehydrated vegetables are better than the ones that have only flavoured salt/msg. As mentioned, you don't have to add all of the salt/msg to the pot. Or just eat the noodles & pour out the broth to get at the remaining vegetables in your bowl.

I grew up with Ichiban, but hate it now. The noodles get too soft too fast.

Specifically with Nongshim, I like their Shin Raymun and Chapagetti. Shin Raymun as the standard "got to". Shin Raymun Black is good too, but not worth the price. Chapagetti is a pretty good jajamyun (Noodles with black bean sauce). While I like homemade infinitely better, this is the best instant version that I tried.

My current favorite is Samyang Foods Buldak Bokkeummyeon. Maybe this is just me, but I don't find this blistering hot like other who take the "Spiciest ramen challenge". First, this isn't even the hottest ramen. Second, it actually has a lot of flavor. With ramen, I like to add things in, like an egg, green onions, random veggies, leftover meats, etc. This is the only one I don't feel like I need to add anything.

I'm looking for a certain instant noodle. I have only bought it once at T &T, I can't remember what brand or what it's called, but it's an instant noodles using potato noodles.

Does anyone know which instant noodle this is?
