recommend a laptop?

Hey All,

I'm in the market for a sub $1000 laptop. No major lifting will be done on it.

I was looking at the Acer Swift 3 from bestbuys boxing day flyer. Is the 11th gen i5 that worth a 150 over the 10th gen?

Got mine yesterday, 14" version, love it! Good quality and works great! Only negative is the battery.

I wanted the 15" display so I would have the numeric keypad.

I miss the days when batteries could be swapped out - I used to travel with several spares.

As soon as the Lenovo comes in I'll be replacing the keyboard in my HP Envy (an i5 with similar features to the new Thinkbook - touchscreen (though not FHD), backlit keyboard etc,), reloading it from scratch and moving THAT into my vehicle to replace the veritable antique 11 year old HP/Compaq G61 I use in the field which is simply too slow to effectively run today's software in spite of memory upgrades and having an SSD - I will miss the mechanical keyboard and the previously referenced swappable battery feature.

It's a version of the website supposedly offering extra discounts for IBM/Lenovo employees and their families/friends. But everyone and their dog has been using it for years so it may as well be the regular site. You can find it at this link: https://www.lenovo.com/ca/en/ibmeppca/

It shouldn't ask for any passwords but if it does use FNDEPP.

The PC I ordered was more than $200 more expensive in both the LenovoPro and teacher/Student sectio0ns of their site, so the savings are (in this case) real.

UPS indicates it will be delivered tomorrow
