Recommend a router (internet: 50MBPS Max Download Speed)

Hi everyone,

I heard that even if I buy the best router it will not make my internet speed faster.

Anyway, my internet max download speed is 50 MBPS and max upload speed is 10 MBPS.

Which router is do you recommend?

If you are just looking for a simple all in one router for home use,
The ASUS routers are popular among RFD members.
Decent hardware and better than average firmware updates.
e.g. ASUS RT-AX68U

If you are technically inclined,
You can consider routers supported by third party open source firmware.
e.g. FreshTomato and OpenWrt.

I have used an Asus RT-AC86U for a few years with Rogers Ignite and Bell FTTH. It's worked well, gave me great WiFi coverage all over my house, and supports hardware encryption for my VPN.

What is wrong with the router you received from your service provider?

I would just keep that, if you need better WiFi, then get a WiFi access point (not mesh).

If you have a large area to cover, you can get multiple access points

Any router would do. Not that it makes any difference.

It will NOT make your connections any faster than 50mpbs
