Recommendation on where to buy patio furniture?

Hello RFD,

Does anyone have any recommendation on where to buy a modular set of patio sectional sofa? I like the functionality of this set: https://www.aosom.ca/item/outsunny-3-pi ... 091GY.html

But the Amazon reviews are not great. Apparently the cushions are really thin and cheap quality.

I also like the functionality of the Ikea sets but it really doesn't look great especially for the price.

Is there any local shops in the Lower Mainland that carries good quality patio furniture? My budget is around $2k including the sofa, umbrella and an outdoor area rug.

Thanks in advance!

A pool or outdoor store. Bring your checkbook. A lifetime set will set you back $5k.

I bought mine from
Best Buy on clearance, was $2500 originally and I got it for 600.
Several years in and still in perfect shape. Forget the umbrella, get a gazebo
warming up the earth 1 gas fill-up at a time...
You only live once, get a v8

BB sells some really rando stuff, not marketplace but BB themselves. For a while they added home theatre seating, which is somewhat on brand but that also brought in desks and obscure things like hospital beds. The later of which they dont seem to sell anymore.

I saw a sectional set, very similar to this set at Walmart in Kanata yesterday. They might have it in your area as well

For best results …
Buy early … things are beginning to hit the stores now
Expect to pay a premium cuz you shop early for best selection
(As the season goes on … sales will increase in percentages saved 10% thru 50% + OFF … but availability decreases … each Store / Retailer only gets so much … there are finite amounts produced in any product line for any “style year” )

And it’s always best to buy patio furniture you’ve seen in person (at the very least samples )
So as to judge construction, materials used, and comfort … got to sit on it to figure that last bit out
A middle of the road priced set … but with crappy cushions IS USELESS
It’ll cost more to replace cushions … than what the set cost to buy

Buy once
Do it right
And enjoy for years / decades
(Esp important if storage is a challenge … inside storage is best, protected storage ok, outdoor storage and your stuff will live a far shorter life with Winter weather destroying it in a rather short period of time )

Thin-looking cushions so if you have a bony ass, it' might not be ideal.

If you want 3.14" cushions (which sounds respectable), same brand and modular from Walmart $649.
Have you bought anything from Costway before? I've been eyeing an offset umbrella but I don't know anything about this site.

I found a few warehouse sellers on FB marketplace. Most quality sets do not go under 1K. So stuff you see around 1K or less will usually have thinner cushions.

Any quality patio furniture will run you at least 1.5k-2k. Sunbrella seems to be the best for patio cushions. You can try to buy them separately but they usually are the most expensive part of patio furniture.

I have a Walmart patio set which was around $6-700 before tax. The frame is made of steel and painted. They scratch pretty easily but you get what you pay for.

Need some advice from those owning the same wicker patio conversation set for at least three years. Wife and I are debating between the sets sold on Costco with aluminum frame (under the wicker) and those sold on Wayfair with steel frame.

I am voting for Costco for high quality although pricey ($2700 for five seats). Wife favours Wayfair for quantity ($2000 for 7-9 seats). Where we are getting stuck is on assurance on rattan durability. Neither Costco nor Wayfair (or Home Depot/Lowe’s for that matter) has relevant reviews on rattan (from owners of 3+ years) or clearly stated quality of rattan (PE, HDPE etc).

Any one has any experience with rattan durability sold on Costco versus Wayfair and Home Depot. TIA

We actually bought a second set from Costco recently. We bought This set online. We got the colour we wanted because we purchased it the moment I received an email from Costco about new deals. The colour we got (navy blue) sold out by the end of the day.
That being said, the set is one of the rattan with aluminum frame. I say the build quality is pretty good. As with most customers who bought this set, there was a dented piece, but did not affect the overall comfort or look of the set. I'm sure I can make a stink about it and have them ship that exact piece as a replacement. The rattan on it is super strong and not loose or flimsy. The plastic feels durable and not like cheapie sets you can find on FB marketplace.

As for comparing to wayfair or homedepot sets. Like I said before, you're not going to get quality sets for under $800 unless its clearance or someone is stupid enough to sell their set for cheap. Pay attention to the cushions that are sold with these sets. I personally would opt for Sunbrella fabric cushions. The ones on our set is super comfy. I never feel any of the rattan or aluminum frame under it. You can always go to HD to try out their sets. They're decent and we almost went with a set they sold but most of their stuff is sold out and they're not looking to sell their display sets.

Thanks. I couldn’t be more convinced with Costco.
