Recommendations for BEST (not cheapest) body shop in west GTA/Mississauga area

Got hit today by a car with dashcam evidence they pulled out and hit my car (VW) as I was driving by. They are offering to pay for the damages and it's likely to be over 2k including replacing the scraped rim. Looking for recommendations for body shops to do the best work to make it like new again. I'll be going to Auto Magicians already, and Humberview VW told me they send their cars to 427.

Has anyone ever used One World Auto on 3555 Hawkestone Rd?

Ps this is my second hit on my car in the 9 months since I've moved here lol

Thanks!

Go to European Autobody - https://www.europeanautobody.com

They use OEM paint for VW which is glasurit To get the best paint match you need to use the same brand of paint already on the car. ALso European autobody is very good & they deal with lots of high end cars, hell they even have an area dedicated just to Ferrari.

Thanks, do you guys have experience with them through insurance too? Just went to them this morning to get a quote and I doubt the guy who hit me will be willing to pay. I've heard that insurance has some control over shops to tell them what used or after market parts to use etc

They are on the pricer wide but worth it. Quality work, very good stuff.

You can take your car anywhere if using insurance, don't have to go where they say.

If they don't agree with paying the price then ya just go through insurance. Must less hassle for you.

i've been dealing with Excellence Auto for my ongoing repair , and I have very good things to say about the work and professionalism of their employees. They really are trying their best to minimize the unpleasantry of the repair itself and their facility is beautiful lol

I can't imagine they are cheap out of pocket, but they are OEM certified collision shop for VW fwiw

I have taken several cars to Heartland collision. They're pricey, but they do great work.

I noticed it's CSN-affiliated, so I'm not sure if their original person (Dave) is still working there.

Yup took my mothers car there1 1/2 years ago. They did great work, I believe they painted at least half of the car but cannot tell it was done. I detail cars on the side for friends/family and I usually can tell when a car has been painted but have not noticed it on my mothers car yet. This was done through insurance, they told me they were not on the approved list of bodyshops they use but I can still use them if I wish & they even said over the phone they have never had issues with them (ie customers complaining about a bad job)

Also from what they told me they

Which location? I can see on the site there's 2 places. I've see others mention this place before as a good one too!

Appreciate the responses from everyone

my car is at their new location on Silver Star Blvd... very beautiful and clean place

perhaps a sign of how much this place will cost out of pocket, the owner's Ferrari F8 is parked prominently right outside...

They work with all insurance companies. Definitely claim through insurance, especially if you're not at fault. You'll be covered under DCPD so it'll have no impact on your claims record.

Unless you don't want a damage record on your car. This is not applicable if a police report has already been made. Or if you intend to drive the car until The End.

This is exactly what I was trying to avoid by giving him the option to pay ....but looks like they aren't willing to fork it over.

So I guess a secondary question - European Autobody was the most expensive quote, I also went to Vaughan Fine Touch and Luxury Autobody and they were in the same ballpark of 2.5-3k cheaper then EAB. In terms of resell/damage record would it better if the repair is in the 5-10k range or should I just go to EAB even though it'll show the most $$ on the repair/carproof?

I just sold two cars.

When it comes to damage, the top 3 most important things people consider are:

1) If there are damage records at all.
2) If so, how much?
3) Evidence of damage.

If you're primarily concerned for resale value, and not going through insurance is not an option, I would go with the cheapest. And also take photos of the damage before the repair.

If I'm someone in the market for a used car, if I see $3k damage, but owner has proof that it isn't serious (e.g. a minor fender bender), I would "prefer" that over $6k damage.

One of the cars I sold had $3k of damage on it, but I provided pictures of the damage before and also the invoice of the (reputable) body shop who did the repair, the buyer was satisfied and not too bothered.
