Recommended Repairs for RAV 4

Hey everyone,

I have a 2016 Rav 4 that is close to hitting 100,000 KMs (89,000KMS) and the following services were recommended by the dealer:

Brake Fluid Flush: 137.95 + Tax
Oil System Cleaner: 54.95+ Tax
EFI and Throttle Body Service: 199.90+Tax
Transmission Fluid Replacement: 162.95
"Left Real Stabilizer link is bent": 250.00+tax to "repair"
Plus Alignment: 120+ tax

Can any expert in here explain the bolded parts?

The one that caught my eye was the stabilizer link, they said they will REPAIR it. Do I still need to align?
Should I get all of the above services?

Thanks

oil system cleaner sounds like an oil change.

efi and throttle body service sounds like cleaing a map/maf sensor.

you have to replace the sway bar link, its probably a $20 part.

Alignment is probably strictly not needed, but if you bent a sway bar link, you might have bent a bunch of other stuff.

I would just go to an independent mechanic for these kind of work. You are out of the warranty at 5yrs/100K anyways.

Brake Fluid Flush: 137.95 + Tax - if you have never done this then yes you should do it. Of course you could probably get it done cheaper at a good shop for less

Oil System Cleaner: 54.95+ Tax - They will likely put in a bottle of 'Cleaner" in your oil before an oil change. If you change your oil regularly at the correct times or before then you likely do not need this.

EFI and Throttle Body Service: 199.90+Tax - They likely take a can of throttle body cleaner and clean/scrub it as it gets dirty over time, again if you have a good shop they can do this

Transmission Fluid Replacement: 162.95 - Good idea if never been done, my opinion is always use OEM Fluid for this, so if you go to another shop make sure its Toyota fluid nothing else

"Left Real Stabilizer link is bent": 250.00+tax to "repair" - You need to replace it if its bent you cannot "Repair it". Its $35 - https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.ph ... 80&jsn=397
And alignment depends, but if you have never done one then its a good idea since its likely out of spec which can cause other issues, However if you are replacing 1 side do both sides and you can get it done much cheaper at another shop with new ones (If you even need them)

Plus Alignment: 120+ tax - $120 is the average cost,

Any shop recommendations?

I'm in Mississauga. The dealer prices seem to be so high. Does it matter if this car is dealer repaired on independently repaired from here on? It's my dad's car and he wants to keep this thing going as long as possible.

All about import off Eglinton road is pretty good. I have not done any service other than a pre-purchase inspection, but I've heard many good things about them on here. The owner writes a column for the Toronto Star (or another local newspaper), and he is very enthusiastic about cars, so I would trust them to take care of my car.

Those prices are ridiculous. Take it to T&t auto:

Is there warrant still on it? Extended warranty maybe? I'm going to guess and say probably not in which case it does not matter where it gets repaired since no more warranty.

As for missassauga, I have experience with

Columbus Automotive Services

Not in Missassauga, that I have experience with.
