Went to Red Lobster in the states last year. The Kids wanted to go. With three adults, three kids with the bill came to $180 CDN (with tax, tip and conversion). No one even ordered drinks (except for 1 pop). The food was a greasy mess. Shrimp were tiny with huge amount of batter. Will never go there again (Canada or the US).

Way to expensive for what you get.

I went to endless shrimp 2 years ago, which was my second time at the time. As with all these AYCE events, timing is key. You need to choose a time when they are not very busy. I usually go at around 2pm-3. Right after lunch and before dinner.

Also, choose a location that isn't busy. So no downtown locations. Go to the ones in the suburbs.

The last time I went, service was fairly fast. IMO it's worth trying. But I don't think I will go again because the shrimp doesn't wow me. I can get my shrimp fix from AYCE sushi and ordering tempora shrimp. It's also cheaper at lunch AYCE sushi. Endless shrimp was OK. Worth going once to decide for yourself if it's worth it. I don't think I will go again though but that's only because I see better value elsewhere.

For those that brought kids, if I ordered 2 x endless shrimp for Adults and then 2 x kid meals, do they hassle you if the kids eat the shrimp too?

I figure they may lay off since I ordered kid meals? I know it will be a ymmv, but I’m interested in hearing of your experience, I’ll be heading to the Nepean location in Ottawa.

if it wasn't ayce, "endless" would be false advertising

I’m sure you’ll be fine. The servers couldn’t care less, if they did hassle you, they might think it will affect their tip. I went with my mom and brother last year. Mom didn’t order AYCE. I passed her a number of garlic shrimp and skewers. I never got caught.

The people you might have to keep an eye out on the floor is the restaurant manager or dining room floor manager. The way they are dressed, it would be easy to tell.

What's this year's record for shrimp!

Thinking of taking this mrs. and she always finds it funny hearing, and trying to beat the RFD record.

... Or at least watching me try too.

Bump - this deal is still on. USA has Monday Endless Shrimp for $15USD but with a 6PM cutoff. Here in Canada it is $22CDN but no time cutoff

My buddy ordered this once at 319 Bayfield St, Barrie. He soon became convinced that each batch of garlic shrimp was purposely being salted more than the last to discourage him for continuing on with his quest. Being a resourceful cheapo, he starting 'bathing' each shrimp in his cup of water to rinse off the excess. Gross but effective I guess...

When they removed salad from being included from all entrees, we decided that was the last straw. Took away a staple I've being enjoying for decades! Next cheddar bay biscuits are going to become a paid appetizer...
