redemption event (Shopper's Drug Mart) and how it works?

I want to ask how I redeem points for shoppers. Can I redeem a fixed amount of points and pay the rest in other forms of payment?

====
Get $75 in extra value (75,000 PC Optimum™ points) when you redeem 150,000 - 500,000 PC Optimum™ points.
====

From what I see, you get $75 values if you redeem either 150,000 or 500,000 points. i.e. That means the best value is to redeem 150,000 points only?

The ad actually confused me at the beginning since it states that you get "up to" $225 off if you redeem 150,000 points. If I redeem exactly 150,000 points, I should get exactly $150 + $75 = $225 off?

@redbridge the move of the thread by the moderators from the Hot deals forum to the shopping discussion forum removed the link you posted.

If you post it again here, I will try to answer your question.

Yes.

I understand what you mean and you are right, it would be daft to redeem more points than the specified levels because the extra points would be redeemed at a 1:1 rate without any bonus. It would also be daft to redeem the specified levels of points for a lesser rebate than possible, by buying less stuff than you could.

There are only 3 levels of redemption that make sense. Here's how to do it:

- buy $70 or more of beauty stuff in store and you can redeem 50,000 points to get a $70 rebate. You pay the rest, if any, and taxes with cash or a card;

- buy $150 or more of beauty stuff in store and you can redeem 100,000 points to get a $150 rebate. You pay the rest, if any, and taxes with cash or a card;

- buy $225 or more of beauty stuff in store and you can redeem 150,000 points to get a $150 rebate. You pay the rest, if any, and taxes with cash or a card.

In the end, your post was right all along the way. SDM makes it more confusing than necessary on purpose in the hope that people will redeem more points than necessary or leave part of the possible rebate on the table.

Thanks. I understand now. I have not redeemed points in years. At the end if you spend $200 (before tax) only and claimed 150,000 points, you will only get the extra $50 as bonus! It is where the "up to" came from....... Need a clear mind to optimize :)

For the record …
As the Co-Host of the RFD PCO MegaThread I analyzed this offer for another person last week

pc-optimum-discussion-thread-2022-2520761/37/#p35851357

In the future … for all things PCO related the MegaThread is the first place you should look

These are good …

BUT … Best redemption offer of the year remains their Mega Bonus Redemption Events that always happen around Black Friday where it’s:

Redeem 70,000 for $ 100
Redeem 130,000 for $ 200
And
Redeem 250,000 for $ 400

THanks.

I finally went to my local Shoppers on Thursday and did the 100,000 points redemption. On top of it, the person also gave me the senior discount (20% off). Amazing deal..... happy wife, happy life :) Something like $19X (+tax) and redeemed 100,000 points + $28.....
