SOLD OUT!

Back in stock. This was just added to Refurb.io in the past few days, and as of yesterday was sold out. Probably very limited numbers -- maybe just one. So I won't bother with much of a description.

Very favourable reviews from NotebookCheck.net: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Del ... 946.0.html

Grade A refurb. Business class quality. Good cooling and relatively quiet.

No webcam. No bluetooth. Unknown if keyboard is backlit. Unknown if panel is IPS. Unknown if the HDD bay is free -- many configurations included a mSATA 128gb SSD along with a mechanical hard drive.

Good luck to potential buyer(s). Sorry if you're sick of all these refurb posts -- it seems like the ONLY hot deals for laptops these days in Canada are all refurb.

I was looking at this and I was wondering what's a 1000M?
Then I realized ohhhh, it's a Quadro 1000m
If you stare long enough at a lurker, the lurker stares back at you.

Not a bad deal. Bluetooth module can be added, but just cheaper to get one of the micro usb adapters.

Graphics are upgradable too.

Service Manual indicates the laptop supports Nvidia Quadro 1000m and 2000m, and ATI FirePro M5950.

Should be swappable with other models too as per here:

Here are the fastest cards you can get for this model:

Good price. My last machine at work was an M4600. It worked quite well. The only thing I didn't like was that it was the older gen quadro and didn't support more than 2 monitors on dock. boot up wasn't super fast so it's likely our configurations did not use SSD.

Precision's are big and bulky. Otherwise the specs are great unless you want heavy gaming. The quad core Sandy Bridge really makes a difference for heavy workloads.

You're not going to be doing any "heavy gaming" on a Quadro 1000m.

FWIW I found a forum post from ~2012 (sorry, lost the link) complaining that this laptop sucked at mid-range games back then. None of the Quadro cards are well-suited for gaming, and this, I believe, is the lowest of the Quadros. Benchmarks for the Quadro 1000M look about the same as Intel HD 4000 integrated graphics, which itself is now 2 generations old (new Skylake laptops have HD 6000). Not to say that having a dedicated card doesn't offer any advantages.

I take it you mean ca.refurb.io?

Back in stock at same price. Probably same specs. Though, I'm not sure if it's the right time for buying a used laptop with Black Friday sales season so close. In addition, last year dellrefurbished had a few well-specced workstation laptops at good prices after discount (I think the BF promo was 50% off + FS).
