Reliability Status Check (Do they check employment history) - Innova post

Hey everyone,

I recently accepted a developer position at Canada post , After receiving the offer letter they are asking me to undergo a reliability status check.

The question I have is what do they normally check in reliability status? Do they check my employment history with comparison to my resume? Or do they check what I wrote in the application?

I don't have anything fishy in my resume but just needed to know so that I can get all my ducks in a row

It is just a more detailed check given that it is considered a federal government role. Aside from having to get finger prints and signing an additional form, it wasn't that different from other checks that I have had in the past.

Reliability check is to confirm who you are, your citizenship status, where you live (previous and present) and any criminal offences.
Your education, employment history and references are a separate process.

They check things like Identity, credit history, SIn status and criminal history. Education check is done at the interview stage or before references are contacted.

1 or 2 references will normally be contacted but they are asked very specific questions.
