RONA wont price match any clearance items on Lowe's website. Both RONAs near my place wont basically. Rona still has a lot of them instock but Lowes does not unfortunately.

Also I found an online store that had the SNT2103 model available and the Lowers manager I was dealing with flatout refused to price match it stating that price matching is on the discretion of the store manager and also this was a seasonal product. The guy would not budge no matter what.

This is why making a trip south of the border is totally worth it. 500 dollar profit martin on a 700 dollar product. Things only Canadian retailers would do.

Sent a message to Lowes Support as I bought literally thousands of dollars worth of stuff over last year doing renovation on new house, but doubt I'll get anywhere.

FWIW, I love the thing. It struggles in wet snow like any snow blower, but it does the job great for me and can get about 4 small driveways and sidewalks done on a charge of 2x5Ah batteries plus an extra 5ah battery I have with my Ego Lawnmower.
Check with your credit card? Some credit card have extended price protection

maniacshopper wrote: Problem with auger assist is you are relying on the rubber auger to scrape the ground to accelerate forward, ie sacrifice your rubber auger and scraper bar which are expensive consumables. If you need help pushing the snow blower then single stage or a not for you. You need 2 stage blower cuz they have transmission that drive wheel not tide the auger to move forward. Again, have skid shoes if you want to avoid scraper bar frequent replacements and auger replacements.
Can you share a pic of what you altered on your snow blower?

It wasn’t the model I was looking for, but I was just at the Lowe’s in Nanaimo (BC) and they had one unopened box of the SNT2125 (with 2x 7.5 batts and dual charger) for $750 (original $1499) - receipt marked as final sale.

I picked it up as I was mostly interested in the batteries, I already have other EGO tools. Not sure how good this model is but I figured for the price it might be ok.

I asked 2 store reps if there are more available, the staff looked, but they were noncommittal, saying yeah, maybe and then no lol. Their system must be a mess.

If you mean out of stock OOS, the site is showing 6 in stock in Barrie of the mid range one and 1 of the higher end one. - Obviously I'd call ahead, esp on the "1 in stock" scenario. For those of you that are saying is keeps coming up as regular price, because it is NOT AVAIL ONLINE, AND DEPENDS ON THE STORE YOU LISTED AT TOP/ If you are lucky enough to have stock in the store you have at the top, you will see that it is the correct sale price. youre welcome

Got a little carried away and bought 4 snowblowers today (all 50% of MSRP):

1 Remington 2 stage for 420 bucks
2 Ariens s18s for 350 a piece
and an Ariens 24 inch for $850

I think I will keep the Remington and 1 Ariens S18 for myself and give the bigger Ariens 24 inch to my parents along with the other S18.

It's nice to have a small/big option to choose from. I plan to keep the S18 in the garage for quick access/light snow and then the big guy in the shed.

$2200 for 4 gas snowblowers. I made out like a bandit.

I'm jealous. Great deals!! I wish I could figure out gas powered stuff, coz this battery conversion is costing me and seriously, they are no match for these Barrie winters

Ptolmy wrote: It does ‘assist’ or help you move along. But it takes some practice to get it right. You need to tilt the machine for the auger to make contact with the ground. Once it’s on the ground it pulls pretty well, there is definitely a sweet spot for the angle. I installed some larger wheels so the auger would engage without so much of a tilt. Now that the scraper bar has worn down a bit also, the auger grabs the ground right away. I really feel it pulling along - I even look forward to the snow now! ;)
I just tried that and the auger just grinds against the ground lol. This can’t be good for it even when u get it right

Ya that’s how it works. It’s not anything new though - Toro has a few gas single-stage blowers that work like this also.

hmm, If it grinds against the ground , the auger may need to be replaced in couple years. The price is good but debating to see if it is worth it to buy this year, because 1 year warranty will be gone after this season.

As a RFD, I wanted to get best out of the two (Ego and Green works). So I bought One from Lowes(Ego) and one from Costco.ca (Greenworks), and now trying to decide which one to return. May be return both this year because of how less snow Edmonton Alberta received in end of 2022 and early of 2023. Any suggestions ?

Ego -$899.40(SNT2125AP)
Pro's-Built Quality, Self Propelled
Con's-Once used can't be returned, higher price ,3 years battery warranty only, Battery will last max-5-6 years life

Greenworks- $670.00(22inch Model SNB404)
pro's- Costco Warranty(Return if Greenworks gives hassle to fix within 4 years), 8 year battery Warranty(Called Greenworks to confirm), Cheaper price
Con's- flimsy quality compare to Ego

Lowe’s south Etobicoke has 1 BNIB unit of SNT2112 on the floor in snow blower section, scanned $719. I didn’t buy cuz I have one already.

Added $15 skid shoes to save the shroud/housing/scraper, glides now. EGO shoes were $37 and I didn't want to pay or wait; these shoes are same size made in USA, appears well made for >half the price.
Took me about 30mins; if you're handy its easy and having the right tools helps.
Some different vids online, here's my mod.

Are those shoes made of nylon? You could’ve bought the steel ones for Briggs And Stratton from CT which are more durable.

Yes, similar to EGO shoes, I didn't want steel, these are a good fit for SNT2112
