3M or 3M-type. Double sided with the red peel-off stuff is most commonly used. I saw some 3M copies at Sayal Electronics. Real 3M with the proper thickness for phones (1mm-5mm) is hard to get locally and Amazon is probably best.

Keep in mind that success depends on the model and condition of the phone. Bent housings will never keep a screen in place for long. Also some phones (eg Sony's) just don't take on new screens well.

Yes, that's too thick. I've also tried the tape thqt Batcave suggested and it's pretty good but hard to find locally. This is the tape I originally had in mind and have used from Sayal Electronics which is easily obtainable locally. [EDIT] oops, sorry AsianXL - locally for GTA. I just realized your from Vancouver!
