Reset HP laser toner chips?

Hi all, bought a M182n colour laser that came with introductory toner. I purchased non-hp toner and did a chip swap for black to try it out. The printer says that the black is still less than 10%, so I'm wondering if there is a way to get it back to 100%?

Not sure if anyone knows what happens when it hits zero... Only paid $35 for toner so worse case I buy genuine HP, which I really don't want to.

Thanks in advance.

Keep using it until its empty. My introductory in toner was low for a long time but I kept printing and taking it out now and then and giving it a shake until the printouts looked bad

But I have a 'business' mono printer - other HP lines can be more stupid and stop printing when it *thinks* the toner is empty.

Thanks, I already destroyed the initial HP toner getting the chip out and I guess we will see how it works out.
