Call the store you want to return to and ask. You only have 14 days to return and you need the receipt.

We recently did a food return @ a Sobeys Store
Without any issues

Dairy product ... container unbeknownst to us had a crack in it when I bought it ... when I opened it at home it was easy to tell some of the product within was missing ... and the smell was off. Packed it up in a plastic bag ... and took it back to the store.
Customer Service was very accommodating.

As it should be

I think spoiled food ... is a lot different from someone trying to return say a shirt to Joe Fresh, or a plate to Loblaws Home ... spoiled food is not going back out on the shelves to any other customer

Plus food is the foundation of their biz

You should have no problem @ Customer Service ... esp if you do both returns at the same time ... and explain your reasoning as you have done here

Should be able to return because PC products have satisfaction guarantee. You can probably see it on your lamb rack package.

Either email PC and they should make it right since it's a PC product. If you bring it back to the store, I'm almost certain they'll refund you since I've seen people returning items recently.

I had something like this with PC brand eggs recently.
I bought dozen PC Free Run eggs at my local Fortinos, but 1 was missing and another was broken. I went back to the store right away. They let me take another carton of eggs, but I got the keep the first one because they weren't accepting returns due to covid.

Policies may vary from one store to the next, but I really appreciated this one, considering I was dumb enough to not open the carton in the store and check.

OP, my advice is just to go back to the store and explain yourself politely. Especially with a PC product, you have a good chance of being accomodated.

Never had any issue returning bad food. Just take it to customer service and explain it like you did here.

Former Loblaws employee here.

Normally there is a 14 day return policy for most items purchased in the store. To take advantage of this you MUST provide a receipt, we will not give you a refund if there is no receipt provided, even the store manager will refuse such a return.

For PC or No Name items there is a quality guarantee, if you don't like the item simply take it back to the store with your receipt and you will receive a full refund. There's no time limit for PC quality guarantee I believe.

Seems that returns have started up again, hope this helps!

I bought some chicken drumsticks from Loblaws a few months ago that had gone bad. I paid around $8 for them. I didn't want to go through the hassle of packing it back up and returning it to the store. So I submitted a ticket on the PC Optimum app asking if they could give me the equivalent amount back in points instead. Surprisingly they gave me the points without any questions asked
