[Rexall] 10% off Canadian Tire Gift cards (Nov 17-23)

Saw this in the Rexall flyer.
Get 10% off Canadian Tire Gift Cards*
Picture shows $25, $50 and $100 GCs
Nov 17th to Nov 23rd

* Regular Price. Sorry no rainchecks or price matching. While supplies last. We reserve the right to limit quantities. Not valid on variable load cards. See gift cards for details, terms, conditions and if applicable fees. Subject to availability

I've been using these to buy gas. Gift cards count as "cash" payments, so you get bonus e-ct cash when you present your e-ct card at payment time. The bonus is based on what is posted on the inside of the 2nd last page of the CT weekly flyer. For example, starting Nov 17th, the multiplier is 11x. The discount depends on the amount of fuel you buy.
The multiplier chart is here

Can you use Canadian Tire giftcards to purchase giftcards at Canadian Tire? Not sure if they're going to lap the Banana Republic/Gap/Old Navy deal again. That would be nice to stack.

No, gift cards are specifically excluded from the Rexall offer.

I tried once and was told that you cannot buy any gift cards at Canadian Tire with a Canadian Tire gift card.

Correct, this is for theft/money laundering reasons. Person steals a credit card, buys a gift card, if they can buy further gift cards it just dilutes and makes it impossible to track.

The multiplier chart is here: ‎http://canadiantire.scene7.com/is/image ... p;hei=1482

The rows are how many litres you purchased.
The columns are the current multiplier (see 2nd last page of weekly flyer)
The cell that matches your litres and the multiplier shows how much money you will get in your e-ct account.

Alternatively, here is the base amount of money you get (no multiplier) for various litre fill ups. Take that amount and mutiply it by the week's multiplier:
15L. $0.02‎
20L. $0.04‎
25L. $0.06‎
30L. $0.08
35L. $0.10
40L. $0.12
45L. $0.14
50L. $0.16
55L. $0.18
etc.

An example:
So if you buy 52L of gas with 11x multiplier, you will get $0.16 x 11 = $1.76 in e-ct money.
The savings is $0.0352 per litre ($1.76/50L).
If the price of gas is $1.20, you will be saving 2.9% (0.0352 / 1.20)

weird I have offers in my app. for the gas rewards you just need to scan your barcode - you don't even need the app. You can load your bar code into Apple Wallet and that works as well.

in Edmonton and probably all of Alberta, its a flat 4c per litre back in CT cash always, so 50L is 2$ back

If I understand their chart correctly, then...
the multiplier on the first 15L transaction was 15x. ($0.30 / $0.02)
The multiplier on the 2nd transaction was 16.25x (odd). ($1.30 / $0.08)
What was your method of payment?
