Just got two a few hours ago at local Rexall here in downtown Calgary. At first they were scanning full price at $50 a pop. Then rep asked if I have airmiles card. I was a little like why the hell do you need it but I pulled the code from my phone, he punched it in and price dropped by 10%. So apparently you need airmiles card in order to get 10% off, at least in Alberta.
Same thing happened to me a few months ago when the PetSmart GC were 20% off. That was in Ontario.

They never asked for airmiles card and still got the 10% off.

Cashier just needs to know form of payment and it will adjust the price after.

Got 8x$50 CT from brand new 10-pack behind the shelf (so nobody saw those PIN's for sure)
$360 auto-adjusted, I gave my AM card but I don't think it's necessary

Gonna buy something else at CT this weekend, 10% savings is good

aw. last time you could buy the variable load gift cards and put up to $500 on them. was easier to manage than stacks of $100 GCs.

No they don't. It's just standard procedure to ask for air miles. The discount will always appear just before payment.

Don’t forget to buy your Public Mobile vouchers with these. Love these cards Money-mouth Face
Last time I bought a cellular airtime voucher from a CT gas bar, they charged a $1 "convenience fee" on top of the amount of airtime. I paid with a CT gift card at the time (bought at 10% off) so I was still ahead, but nonetheless I resented the money grab by CT.

Bought a variable gift card, loaded $500, paid $450. The system showed the discount right after the cashier punched in the amount.

What!?! I was told by the cashier these were excluded.

FYI, you cannot pay with GCs on canadian tires website. And don't even consider doing a change of payment to the GCs when you pick up your online order unless you've got 30 minutes and a tonne of patience.

Another tip, check all your items for accuracy when picking up an online order. I bought a youth base layer pants in small but in the box was a senior large Disappointed But Relieved Face Drove 20 minutes to pick this up and now, I need to make another trip to return it. This store had the worst POS and customer service...

I'll be using the rest of the GCs at the gas bars.

This is YMMV because a couple posters reported this happening at SDM.

I just spent $1500 on an online-only item at Canadian Tire.

I thought of cancelling the order and then buying it again with gift cards, but when I looked at the checkout just now, there wasn't even that option. I guess gift cards are an in-store thing only.

Am I likely to have success with waiting until the order arrives, going to the store, getting a refund, and re-purchasing it with gift cards on the spot?

I filled up last Saturday in 2 parts. Once 15 ltr and I got 30 cents as ct emoney and then 36.5 ltr and got 1.30 cad as ectmoney. Please help understand what multiplier should I be looking at to verify your above maths. Thanks in advance
Last week it was 13x per their flyer.
Second fill up was straight forward: 13 x $0.10 (based on 35L) = $1.30
First full up: 13 x $0.20 = $0.26, round up to the next 10 cents hence $0.30. (They don't give cents.)

I stand corrected, CT rounds the e-Money to the next 5 or 10 cents.

E.g. 26 cents becomes 30 cents.

If I buy fido voucher with Canadian tire gift card, can fido voucher be used to pay for fido monthly plan on line (like the 3G data plan)?

Edit: just goggle fido, it 's no-go, fido voucher is used for prepaid top up air time only
