Road Bikes: Devinci Podium vs Trek 1500

I'm considering getting a road bike, for commuting and general exercise/fitness.

I've narrowed it down to two bikes, about $1500 in price. The Podium is hand built in Canada, but the Trek is probably made in Asia. The shop selling the Trek offers lifetime maintenance as well.. so that would save me a tonne of money.
