ROG Phone 5 - Anyone Tried?

Couldn't see much chat about this and was becoming a bit curious. Gota replace my phone shortly as its on its last legs and I don't know if I want to wait till late fall for the upgrade I want.

I get its likely overkill but was thinking of it as a fun toy to tie me over for a few months worst case and sell it later till I can get something in Nov/Dec.

Anyone tried one? I'm with Koodo so hoping its good with the network bands.

I was with Shaw and and it was so-so for band support. It may be better with the Big 3 carriers, but know there’s still some missing bands. Camera also was mediocre IMO and that’s the main reason I sold it.

Where did you end up buying it from? Seems like there is no official support for it in Canada?

What were you comparing the camera to? I'm currently on a pixel 4xl and love the camera but can also live if the camera is just average but still can take a clear photo.

Bought it from eBay. As for the camera, I was comparing to a Pixel, iPhone 12, and several recent Samsung phones. In daylight the photos weren’t too bad (but still worse) but forget about low light entirely.

Watch pretty much any YouTube video about the ROG Phone 5 or pretty much any ASUS phone recently and you’ll hear the same complaints.
