Rogers customer, being offered a deal for Ignite 500u 49$ for 3 year contract, but not sure if it's legit

I'm currently a Rogers customer (legacy 300u Internet). A person claiming to be Rogers rep called me and offered a deal for Ignite 500u - 49$ unlimited, no installation fees, modem rental included for a 3 year contract. He said the deal is only for new customers and he will need my wife's name, email and address. We live on the same address.

He said once we get the new modem I can call Rogers and cancel the old Internet service and return the old modem without paying any cancellation fees. I had renewed couple of times for 1 year my current service.

Could this be a legit deal? I don't want to get in trouble with Rogers or be scammed. How can he offer my wife a deal as a new customer if we live on the same address?

It's a business internet contract and it is legit. I wouldn't worry about what Rogers will do, that's on their end to change the system. Just don't pay anything like e-transfers and setup fees, and pay bills through the rogers website.
Uh, yeah, I'd like to speak to a Mr. Tabooger, first name Ollie.

I’m pretty sure you can’t have business services and regular iginite services at the same location?

With business internet, there are probably early cancellation fees.

Yes. $20 for each remaining month in the contract.
EDIT: Correction: $20, not 20%.

OP, I know a family who alternate wife and husband for new services from Rogers from time to time. Same address. Rogers does not seem to care.

I'm in the process right now of doing it. I hated playing that same game every year with them to score a better deal than their advertised prices. I'm currently paying $70 for old 300u. This was a no brainer. I dont have access to Bell Fibe, so I never planned on leaving Rogers anyways. It's legit.

I had this done last month. No issues. Had 500u set up and then cancelled the old account.
