Rogers Is Giving Customers Free Credit To Make Up For The Huge Outage Across Canada,I got $50 & 5 free gigs for 2 years

The thread continued to say that customers will be receiving a credit "equivalent to yesterday’s wireless service fee" which will be applied to the May billing. It will be automatic so customers don't need to do anything to claim it.

If you call and complain, they will give you the small credit
Also a $50 credit
And add extra 5 gigs for two years for free.

So 1/30 of their April bill? So if your monthly bill is $100 you get back $3.33?
If it’s not at least 50% off is it really a deal?

I'm personally not with Rogers, but this 1 day refund alone is not worth the incovience imo. Kind of insulting. Thanks and liked for the post OP

Agreed.. pretty insulting since lots of people, myself included, wasted a lot of time and lost business from this (being unable to reach clients).

just chat with Rogers and complain, I got $10 before due to the fact that we were in lockdown (for Rogers Wireless). Im going to that for my business Rogers internet, as we had to shut down last Saturday. Maybe I can get 40-50% off for a month.

That is their plan and it is a slap in the face to every customer.

A credit equivalent to yesterday’s wireless service fee will be applied your May bill. This will be done automatically & no action is required by you.

Whether or not it was their or Ericsson's (software update) fault does not fairly (IMO) compensate people enough for the loss of service.
It used to be only death and taxes were inevitable. Now, of course, there's shipping and handling, too.

If a single software update can basically take down their network I would be very concerned about how fragile their network is.

Would easily reject whatever they give you by calling CSR and letting them know what you believe to be fair value for that day. I can only imagine the type of business that potentially was lost by an individual who uses their phone to work consistently with clients and so forth.

Risky, shows how much we depend on service, I had to pick up a pager at the hospital instead of using my cell.

It was just an excuse. For a carrier like Rogers, they always did rolling updates to their data centers. There is no way it could bring down almost the whole system all at once.

To be fair the contract you signed with them stipulate that they could give you 0$ for outage and there's no warranty of service. You signed it. You.

If your monthly bill is $100 you should've switched to another provider long time ago :)
