The 320GB is a Costco exclusive. Retail stores sell the 160GB and 500GB. All Rogers PVRs are $100 OFF on boxing week (Rogers promotion).

The best deal was $379 for the 160GB including a HDMI cable. It was online only and just for Dec 24-25. The Flyer had it at $349 but online it was $379. Now, unless someone got a time machine for Christmas, the best deal right now is the one at Costco for $429 (320GB) or $399 for the 160GB at various retail outlets. You can pick up HDMI cables for cheap now online for less than $5

i hate ontario and rogers > :(

bestbuy.ca has newbrunswick and newfoundland hd box for 149.99

the hd box for ontario is 299.99 why?!
the telus hd box 49.99

ontario 160gb hd-pvr 399.99 marked down from 499.99 yet
telus refurbished 160gb hd pvr 79.99

same thing with shaw:
shaw gateway 500gb hd pvr is 189.99 - less than a non pvr hd box for rogers

or the shaw motorola 500gb dual tuner hd pvr is 147.99

Actually the best deal on the 160gb HDPVR was at $350. I posted in the other thread about the boxes that 2001 A/V had it at 350 (its up at 389 now). Plus I think Leon's also had it for 350 today

its funny how on the BB site there is a Videotron 4642HD box for $139. The same Rogers box is $299. This makes no sense at all, Rogers is price gouging.....

Does anyone know if there is any way to make a Videotron box, which is identical to the Rogers box work on Rogers Cable?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think what you're asking is possible because Rogers has a database of serial numbers and if it's not in there (and unallocated to a person) then you can't activate it on a Rogers network.

yes that is what i am asking... so Rogers is charging $300 for the same box Videotron is charging $130 for. This is not fair.... I think Rogers is ripping us off big time and getting away with it...

considering Bell is rolling out whole home pvr service for next to nothing... i think the best deal on a rogers box is to call em and try to get em for free

Well, I took the plunge and picked up a 500GB from BB. All sealed up, and new. The delivery date on the shipment to BB was November. Opened it up, and it was manufacturer August 2010! WFT. Almost a year and half old, and BB just received it last month. When I activated it, the dude said that it had never been activated, so it was new.

It is only slightly faster than the old 8300. At least it's working for now. Gotta return the rental to Robbers ASAP.
