[Rogers] Home Internet Ignite 150u - $34.99/month Loyalty Offer - YMMV

Webchat with Rogers agent and noted the Fido deal below. He stated he could offer the following:
150u - $34.99/month
75u - $28.99/month

I know the Fido deal comes out cheaper with the $150 gift card, but for those who don't want to switch providers where is a clear option to stay with Rogers. I will mention it appears to be a loyalty deal as I've been with them for at least 3 years now. When asked if a gift card could be offered he mentioned that's only for new customers.

Edit: I forgot to mention I stated at the start of the chat that I wanted to cancel their service and move to Fido.

In my case they wouldn't budge from 59.99$ for the 150un internet package.

I tried two web chats, service cancellation then the "winback" phonecall with them. Didn't work.

And now I'm going to Fido.

If we are already midway through a 1 year deal, can they apply the new offer ASAP, or do they have to wait for the current offer to end?

That's way too slow! Can't even stream a movie in 4k.

I stream plenty, my plex server has zero issues streaming 4k.

Hey guys, I hope this will help with negotiating perspective. Depending on the location I was able to obtain Ignite Internet Gigabit with $57 after tax and even lower in Toronto address with $45 after tax. Both offers came from Roger's Ambassador team with condition of promotional period for a year. I assume it would be the same route for many of the RFDers who opted in to the same promotion a year ago. I hope you all can get more speed out of dollars spent. Cheers.

That's wrong, I had Bell 50Mb/s and it was fine for 4K streaming, IIRC when I was originally speccing it out to see if it was enough 4K was requiring somewhere in the 27-35Mb/s range. Looking now, it seems that 15-25Mb/s is enough, probably due to improved compression techniques.

After being on Gigabit since it first come out Rogers a couple of years ago, I can't imagine going back to 75Mbps.

I just called to cancel to go with the Fido offer and they asked what would make me stay, I said I liked the following offers (75u for $24.99 or 150u for $34.99). The guy said no problem, pick one! Done! I was totally willing to cancel tho and let him know that!
