If you have both Bell Fibe and Rogers available, you can play them off against each other and get these kinds of deals.
If you don't have Bell Fibe, you can't get these deals...says the guy where Bell proudly announces to me they can get me (basic) ADSL....pass.
and i look longingly at the 3+ fiber providers on the poles outside our house...

I'm not sure what everyone know what they are getting. I have upgraded to this what they called 1.5Gb, I have done so many tests, I have never been able to get anywhere near that speed. The closest I got it 1.1Gb by using my asus router hooking up by the 2.5Gb port.

This 1.5Gb internet speed is a rip off. What is the point of selling something that you are not able to use its full potential?

You have the Rogers modem in bridge mode? Which Asus router are you using? Does the Asus router's internal speedtest get close to 1.5?

Yes, the modem is in bridge, and I'm using the RT-AX86U on the 2.5Gb port.

I don't have the RT-AX86u but can it run 2.5 Gbe on the LAN port and 2.5 GBe on the WAN port?

I have the RT-AX6000 and it has one 2.5 Gbe LAN port and a separate 2.5 GBe WAN port.

Wow!
Almost 1Gb up and 1.6Gb down? is your modem connected to fiber from outside? I'm still connected to the old copper cable from outside.

I have FTTH with Bell. I do not use any Bell equipment other than the SFP that came with Bell's Home Hub 3000. The speedtest is from the router's internal test. I have a couple of 2.5 Gbe PCIe cards on order.

Looks like you are running the internal speed tests on your AX86U and I would expect you to get better than 1 GB on 1.5 service.

The router is running the latest firmware? Have you tested speed with the modem in router/non-bridge mode and the AX86U connected as a "client" to the modem?

I don't have 1.5GB but one thing I did notice was that for some reason my bridge mode on my modem slowed things down.
I switched the modem back to a normal wifi mode but hid the network and my speeds improved - Not sure why this works lol.
Maybe worth a try.

Oh, you are using Bell. That's why. for the people with Robber, I wish you luck on ever reaching close to 1Gb.
And yes, I'm on the latest firmware. The router is connected to the robber's 2.5Gb using the routers 2.5Gb port. If you are on Bell, you will be able to get that speed.

They offered me a deal and I said I'd think about it and asked if they could call me back in a few days. It's been nearly 2 weeks and no call back and regular customer service cant seem to apply the promo that was offered.

Super frustrating...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

you need to submit a cancellation request in order for winback to call you. (Or call winback). If your account doesn't have cancellation initiated they won't give you those winback promos (based on my experience)

I attached my speed test to show that an Asus router with a 2.5 Gbe port should be able to get 1.5 on a 1.5 plan using the router's internal speed test. I know that Rogers doesn't have high upload speeds but download should come close to or match Bell.

Hey thanks, not sure if you read it correctly. The winback team did call me. I just wanted a day to think about it and was told they'd call me back to confirm. Haven't heard from them since so i wanted to see if there was a way to reach out to them directly.

Thanks!

I would suggest you to catch hold of any Rogers rep in RDF, win back offered me 24 month @ 49.99 with 2 years contract or 12 month @54.99 with no contract. I rejected both , they have scheduled a call back today with me . However luckily I found a Rogers Rep below my apartment same day , he offered me 24 months @ 49.99 and one time $50 credit with installation waived and no contract.

No, roger will not even going to remotely com close to the download speed of what you got. I called support, they even told me that.
They said if you are able to reach approximately 1Gb in the test, you are good. I told them that is a false advertisement.
They just said that there is a clause in their contract to cover that.

So bottom line, if anyone is with rogers, you will never be able to get the speed you want. Go with Bell if that’s what you need.

Guess it depends on location, but it is definitely possible to get the advertised speeds. It’s to bad rogers can’t guarantee it everywhere.
