Rogers internet disconnects every night (Hitron CODA 4582U)

I live in a condo with a bulk internet deal with Rogers Gigabit Internet.

My modem is a Hitron CODA 4582U (white modem).

First few months I didn't notice anything wrong with the internet. Then in the past couple weeks, all of my household devices lose their internet connection around the same time in the evening (between 8pm-10pm) and sometimes in the mornings.

The devices are still connected to the wifi but aren't able to connect to the internet at all.
The modem lights are all on and showing the correct colours.

The only thing that fixes the problem is a power cycle but then it happens again the next day. I've talked to Rogers tech support and they've tried resetting the connection on their end but it still happens the next day. Tech support also said that other units in my building have shown their connections are okay and have been connected for multiple days or weeks without interruption.

Anyone else experience this before or know what's going on here?

I will probably switch out the modem today to see if that resolves it but want to know if anyone has any suggestions if it happens again.

does it matter?
Yes. Same here. Last few weeks it was intermittent but now everyday. I just switch off and on.
Tried new coffee and doughnut. Found same old stale thing. expected bill of six bucks but it was 600 million. Big mistake so the guy said don't worry it is on the house. going back to McD.

It's not normal. It doesn't happen to me and I have the same modem. I use it in bridge mode though. It looks like you are talking about wifi only. Connect some wired device and see if you have the same connectivity problem. It may be related to your wifi and not Rogers connection. What band do you use? 2.4 GHz? Maybe your neighbors like to use their microwave oven at that time or an old 2.4 GHz phone.

I’ve had the same issue last few weeks, have been resetting every morning. Same white modem with Rogers in Toronto. Procrastinating calling customer service.

Is it on WiFi only?

What are your firmware versions? I noticed Rogers updated the firmware 2 days ago. Now it is 7.2.4.1.4b15, it was 7.1.1.37 before.

Happened twice 3-4 days ago. Both times in the middle of the night. First night it happened it went down and didn't properly come back up again, so it wasn't until the next morning that we realized and I had to manually reboot the modem for it to connect properly.

Second time was 2-3 nights ago. It went down in the early AM and probably came back up 20 minutes later.

It has not happened since. I just checked the router to see if it was firmware related, but it's still showing 7.1.1.37 as the latest version.

If it's middle of the night it's usually Rogers doing some work.
Looks like the issues discussed here are wifi related.

been like this on rogers and on fido network for 1.5 years. But used to happen once a month, then every 3 weeks now it is every 1-2 weeks. Happened just 2 mornings ago. I can jus tell the router to release and renew ip or just powercycle the modem to get it working again.

Some area to check, operating system Windows 7 could be corrupted, run event viewer to see how many types of errors and try to fix them. Other thing to look at is firmware version and maybe router need reseting to factory default. Run cleaner program such as CCleaners or registry fixer software.

If it is so, then it's router's fault. Modem reboot would also force IP renewal but the IP rarely changes on cable. Try updating the firmware.

Yes but why does it happen? And why more frequently?

I swapped my modem out today so I'll see if that helps with my issue.

it wont help. I swapped to this same one as yours from the black ones thinking it would fix it. It lengthens the time between events but doesnt fix it.

easy to find out. Next time this happens plug my computer directly into the modem to bypass the router.

One thing I noticed is the new modem is the CODA-4582 whereas the old one was the CODE-4582U. Not sure what the difference is between the two.

Same issue happening to me with the same modem/router combo device. For me, I have devices using wifi and wired connections with this Hitron White Coda modem but occasionally I’ll have either the entire connection cut out or some devices will get connection whereas others won’t. The issue doesn’t discriminate between wired or wifi for me. Sometimes my wired devices will retain their connection while my wifi devices go out and vice versa and sometimes it’s a mix. It’s only been happening recently, like since the beginning of this month. Tried speaking to the Rogers chat and they told me to factory reset which I did and no luck with resolving the issue. They also said I couldn’t replace my modem since it’s older and I have an older plan but that seems to be bs since it looks like others in this thread were able to switch out theirs. I’m also procrastinating on calling their technical service team just cause they’re usually not helpful but I probably should. Any advice?

The U model is newer with slightly better hardware but not by much. I forgot the details but you can Google it. I doubt it can make a difference.
