[Rogers] Perkopolis: Rogers 10GB plan + Pixel 7 Pro $62.89 per month on a 3-year plan - other phones and plans also available

Received email from Perkopolis. They offer Rogers 5G plans from a reseller. BYOD plans are a warm deal at best, but plans with phones are quite good.

Reading their FAQ it appears there is a 3-year commitment to waive the device balance.

So it appears in the example of 10GB plan and Pixel 7 Pro in BC it's $62.89 all-in per month, for 36 month. Correct me if I read this wrong.

Yes, I find it strange too. Reading their FAQ it looks like the plan is month-to-month, but device financing is for 36 months:

"Our plans offer subsidized financing. You pay a higher price for your monthly plan than a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) price for the same plan. The difference is the device financing you receive over 36 months."

Does this mean you can cancel or port your line anytime but continue to pay the financing portion? Or does the price of the finance portion then go through the roof/change if you do so? Seems they are walking on thin ice.

Probably still better off with a byop and financing phone from Google. 10gb plans are going for $30 at times so you'd end up paying 1100+ for the phone over 3 years.

Outside of this deal, what's the best price I can get for Rogers 10GB unlimited plan that includes 5G, or similar from another provider? About $55 + tax I believe? Then Pixel 7 Pro is basically free with this deal.

Why so many downvotes. Its actually a pretty decent plan considering device and plan price. Agreed data is low at 5 gb but 512 kbps unlimited after the limit is manage able.

I those not to get a device, still signs me up for 36m

Line 1 - Plan Type
BYOD
Line 1 - Plan Selected
$58.75 Monthly + Tax (BYOD) - 20 GB of Max Speed Data (non-shared) throttled to 512KB/S after 20GB - 36 mos
Line 1 - Plan Cost
$48.07 + Tax(discount applied - $(-10.68))
$51.81

Looks like a decent plan if it's giving you full speed (5G) and HD video etc. Anything better out there?

20G-$40*24M looks nice (100GB/65 deal is all over with EPP, but I want to keep it close to $50). I am with Zoomer and trying to find a better deal.

Only for new customers, you don't get discount as existing Rogers customer (~$11/mo)

Im in my 30s lol. Definitely remember those terrible plans. I meant they've been outlawed for the last 10 years or so so how's it an option.

On every flank operator BF deals were $30 for 10GB. At google CA store right now, Pixel 7 Pro is retailing at 979 cad. Doing the math comes as $30 + (979/36=) $27 = $57/month. Unlocked phone, no financing, BYOD, no agreement.

Why on earth people will go for OP offer? Maybe because it's not BF yet?

Yes, but those plans don't include 5G access. I am specifically looking for a 5G plan. What's the cheapest 5G plan available in Canada?

Your OP or subject should mention you are considering only 5G.

3 year plans still allowed for "business" plans. E.g. if you signed up your business and got it for your employees.

Maybe perkopolis is getting the "deal" by acting as a business

I don't think this deal is THAT bad, esp in Ontario.

It's showing savings of over $1000 on an iPhone 14 Pro Max. Granted the monthly cost is more, but it still equates to a few hundred bucks savings.

Only reason I'm not biting is due to the 3 year contract...
