They might move your digital cable, but good luck trying to get anything digital cable other than the starter package as a new customer...

Rogers winback is offering 500u for $50/month + tax for 1 year with no rate protection, i.e. subject to price increases. The only thing guaranteed is the discount amount. A friend of mine was offered it yesterday.

Just reporting what I was able to negotiate via the Chat:

Old plan:
Ignite TV Popular with 75 flex channels
500gb internet unlimited
Promo: $109+tax

New plan:
Ignite TV Flex 5
500gb internet unlimited
Promo: $74.99 + Tax

I was initially offered $119 + tax to keep the same plans.

I was going to just cancel the TV entirely (I rarely watch it anymore) so I asked for an internet only price (hoping to get the $50 month posted above). First they tried to keep me on the same plan by offering to keep me on the same $109 promo. I refused that and said to just cancel everything if they couldn't give me an internet only plan that was reasonably priced.

The agent then offered to reduce my TV package (to the Flex 5), keep the 500gb internet plan, and apply a $60 discount per month. This is how they brought down the cost to $74.99+tax fixed pricing for 12 months but without a contract. I kind of rationalized the extra $25 for the TV as being worth at least trying to see if I even need the TV anymore. I'll see if I start using it a bit more, otherwise, I'll have to call back an cancel the TV entirely.

Is winback usually pretty good at giving actual deals? This is the first time I'm trying it out and I'm worried that I'm either not going to get a call or they'll offer me the same stuff that other reps have already tried to give me.

I'm paying about $100 per month on Roger's legacy digital cable. I'm buying a new 4K OLED TV and as far as I've read Rogers is blurry 720p that looks terrible on new TVs (watching Leafs #1 priority). So now I'm shopping for new TV service. Seems like we're now forced onto IPTV + internet bundles. I'm fed up with Rogers jacking up prices... Ignite is about $200 that's insane.

What can I expect from retention now for IPTV and internet? 500mb+ connection and IPTV for around $100-$110? And after 12 months it's jumps over $200?

I received an offer from Rogers through regular chat!! and accepted.... I've almost always gone winback route... but this seemed like a good offer so accepted as I can always cancel later. Again I was very surprised. My deal doesn't end until January 4 2022...

ignite popular, 550u with two ignite boxes for $84.99 plus tax ($96.04) good until January 4 2023 but is subject to price increases only discount is guaranteed...

Even retentions best offer was the default one that appears on myrogers.

500u, Flex 20+ sports, Crave and HBO, 1 box for $145+ tax.

Rolling the dice with winback.

New promo is $64.99 for GB, some TV package, and the 1 year Disney+ subscription. I am very happy with this.

Good to see you’re still here posting.
