I'm in Scarborough and managed to only get 300u ignite for $44.99 yesterday, that was with retention and they won't budge further. Anyone have better success for my area? Thanks.
Retention via a transfer when you called in, or rentention/winback after putting in a cancellation?

My Virgin five 50 plan expires in about 10 days. I signed on with Rogers 500u with the newer hitron modem. I've speed test on both services and it's not any faster than Virgin. My Rogers showing a significant slower speed than advertised there is more of wait loading pages. I'm already starting to dread the next year as I had a horrible experience with Fido and the last hitron modem. I would have gone back to Virgin in a second had they offered me a deal.

Just retention.
Put in a cancellation two weeks out and wait for the winback email or call.
If nothing comes through, just rescind your cancellation.

Has anyone gotten the gbps or 500mbps plan for less than 40 per month, without bundle savings?

Since January I've had 3 different offers that I've accepted. First was 500u @ $35, then gigabit @ $40, and now, gigabit for $30.

Make sure you're very clear and polite on the phone, no point being a dick. Ask them for their best deals, say things like, "I'm not satisfied with that price". Ask for their supervisor or to be transferred to retentions, "as you are also looking to change providers".

Lastly your price 100% reflects your location. Best prices are usually in major cities in condos, then residential areas in big cities, then obviously the suburbs. Also I'm told that areas where other providers have FTTH are good as they try to keep their prices competitive.

Just got 500u for $25/month for 12 months for my two accounts (Markham and north york). However, when I asked if they can match it if I get a new account, they said no and offerred 90/100 a month for 300/1gb lol

Any chance you can let me know how you did it? Best offer I can get right now is 300u for $62.99.
i was an existing customer with a bundle, chatted and requested to remove cable/phone and requested deals on internet (had 300U). They offered $50, I persisted, then they offered $40. Was very simple. Also offered $45 for 1Gbps.
I'm here.

New customer or existing? I am an existing customer and would love to get that deal and drop my TV and phone.

Through door-to-door reps. Sent you information. Best of luck.
Is there any way you could send this information to me as well? I'm interested in any of those previously mentioned plans as a new customer. Thanks.

I got the same deal. I called in for a better price and I was being offered $74.99 for 500mbps. I said, "No, Thank you. Cancel my service. Effective immediately. It's too expensive for me. I even need a discount on my previous bill."

The next morning, I received a call from I believe a cancelation department, who offered me 34.99 for 300U, 39.99 for 500U and 44.99 for 1GB. I signed up again after that. The Lady also gave me her direct line. Inbox me if you need her number, but this might get you that plan. Good Luck!

NOTE: Guys, the Lady I mentioned is in the Cancelation department. She won't able to setup new connections or give deals to new customers.

Talked to Bell today to match it, as my student promo is close to expire. I was complaining about the price ($65/Giga plan). The AMAZING/RETARD specialist was offering me the 85 dollar 150M plan at regular price and telling me not have to worry about 12 month promo price discount going away every now and then. OMFG, I cancel the Bell service right away and now I am in the market for a new plan.
I spent way too much time finding good deals! Now I will focus on getting my Ph.D. :)

I just got back from Facebook Chat.. Best they could do was 1GB for $74, and 500u for $65. Ugh..

EDIT:

Rogers Live Chat linked me their internet package and told me best they could do was offer $25 off whatever is posted on the site.
