[Rogers] Rogers Internet Retention Plan - $49.99/Month Ignite 500 Plan

Looks like rogers is offering a better price on Ignite500 Unlimited plan for just $49.99/month without contract for existing customers.

Had a call with rogers as i was about to close my internet service of Ignite250 Unlimited (approx. $76/Month on 2-Year Contract), but they offered me a better plan, hope it helps.

YMMV here:

I cancelled my rogers internet (60mbs @ $30+tax)) for Virgin's promo (50 mbs for $30 + tax, currently $45+tax) and after about 3 weeks Rogers called to offer the 500u for $28 tax in. My stated reason for canceling was for spotty and inconsistent speed and service up-time. Which was actually 100% true. In the offer they said they would send out a "senior technician" to my house to test the line prior to setting up the 500u

Depending on your needs and risk tolerance, you would probably be offered the same thing.

If you actually go through and place a cancellation order (you can future date up to 45 days, so you don't lose your internet immediately) then the "winback" offer is even better at around $30/mo for 500U, or $40/mo for Gigabit.

So this deal of 49.99 do I need to call in and cancel?

Or they will change it if I just call and convince them?

Thank

That is not much of a deal as I am getting the same package for $29.99 a month:

According to my most recent bill:

Rogers Ignite 500 - Unlimited 117.99
Savings: Internet Offer -98.00
Gigabit Wi-Fi Modem 10.00
Total monthly charges$29.99
HST 3.90
Total $33.89

Granted that I also have TV service so perhaps this may be how I got this price. In any event, you can always push Retentions, or the Office of the President for better deals. They have the power to give you discounts other channels can't offer.

Hey there, just chiming in. I used online chat a week ago. Bell was dropping off pamphlets in my area advertising trying their new gigabit for 49.99. All I said is Bell is handing this out right now in my area and I am wondering if you can do anything to match this as it is a very good deal and I am getting more for my money. They came back with the matched offer for a year.

Ignite 500 for 49.99 - it is 39.99 with a $10 modem rental making it 49.99

I have similar offer with the savings for $103 and so it's $5 less (ie $24.99). However, that savings has a time limit (I think it's only 12 months if my memory is correct). So what happen if they remove that offer after 12 months? That's why they don't give you a straight offer of the net amount!
